Fan making noise.

Most all fans can be replaced with ease. There are 4 mounting screws included with a new purchase. I suggest or Most fan sizes are available and all sizes are in mm. The most common sizes are 120mm and 140mm.

What size case fan for HP Compaq dc7600?

What size case fan? Dunno.

1) How to measure the fan? Across the fan's shroud. (Surrounding Cage) Fan stood up, measure the Height, and Width.

2) Look at the label on the fan's center hub. Write the number down.
Now which of these CHASSIS fan numbers match?,Business-Desktop-dc7100-dc7600-dc7700,Computer,Fans.aspx

A) 3777791-001
Chassis Fan - 70mm x 70mm x 15mm.

70mm x 70mm is the height and width of the fan's shroud. (Surrounding cage) [ Chassis fan stood up ]

15mm is the Thickness of the fan shroud.

Nope, not that one.

B) 451144-001 Chassis Fan - 92mm x 25mm

Could be.

C) 455310-001 Chassis Fan - 92mm x 25mm.

Could be.

I want to ad afan

Most cases already are set up for an additional fan. You may find which size you need in your users manual or online manual. You just need to size the fan with the opening and mounts, purchase the kit, it should come with a fan, screws, and a cable to get power to the fan. Installation is simple. Just make sure you get the right size though.

Cooling fan froze up from layer of dust on top of heat sink. Need to buy new fan. cannot determine size. 80mm too big

This is easy, if its a PC desktop cooling fan what you can do is take the unit/just the cpu down to any FRY's eletronics or computer store and have that fan replaced, these are standard also most are universal

You can also take out the fan you going to need to do that anyhow because its being replaced and take that fan down to the computer store. A measuring tape would also determine the size really quick.

Thanks and please do be considerate while passing threw fixya to rate and leave feedback for each expert that helps you today.

I changed the CPU and Heatsink but it still overheats. What can be done?

What thermal compound did you use between the CPU and Heatsink ?

Get a higher air flow fan, or a whole new CPU cooler,
I would say any thermaltake cooler is better then any oem fan.

The rear case fan, you could get the same size, but a stronger fan.

If it was me, I would increase the hole size of the rear case fan
vent. This would allow for more air flow. But altering this could void a warranty , so this is only what I would do.

The P.C. at startup says the fan needs to be replaced and then powers down.

This warning could mean another thing. It could be overheating problem. For your question, just take off its cover then take the fan and measure its size then also get its spec. Its more direct and sure way.

Just power down your unit and disconnect from power source before doing that

Hope it helps.

Case fan for pavilion 533w

well the fan sizes usually go like this.

If 80mm is too small then its got to be 92mm or 120mm but 120mm are usually reserved for the more expensive pcs and\or servers.

My hypothesis is that its 92mm has extremly cheap fans try them first.

Hope this helps

depending on the size of the fan you can probably remove it and take it to your local computer store and have them get you a better one of the same size.
