Question about Pioneer XVDV830/SDV830 DVD AUDIO HTP System

1 Answer

The DVD player is diplaying a NO NUM message on the display window, initialy, which then turns to REGION. On the TV screen the following message is displayed: (Player's Region Setting), followed by <1>: Region up to <6>: Region, then at bottom of message written Pick out any one of these! The problem is that you can't pick any region as they are not clickable and all the buttons of the remote don't work except for volume control and 'System Setup'. When DVD holder is opened then the 'Home Menu' button works with limited functions. Therefore, due to this all DVDs can't play excepting those with automatic start. Apology if reflected model is the wrong one. Can't seem to find the correct model on the list provided. Model: Pioneer XV-DV131 Home Theater System (DVD/CD)

I have the same problem with my XV-DV333. Search on inet and this came up: "... Pick Out One Of These! But I am unable to select any region using the remote control or the buttons on the player. What do I do? You need to get a Pioneer Service Remote. When you have it you should press: [ESC] [A.MON] [Numbers], where [Numbers] correspond to the region number you want to set. Be aware that you can only set this once, if you set the wrong region number for your area, there is no turning back. " WTF! Am I supposed to get a service remote to get this thing working again. I haven't done anything and it worked before:/

My pioneer blu ray player displays " no disc " message when insert any disc , Can you pls advice the chance of problem

The most likely problem is a bad optical pickup(the lens is part of that) aka laser. If the laser is weak, it can't read the disk, hence the error "no disk". For more information, or should you have further questions, please visit my website at You may contact me through the website. Thank you.

Hi, My Pioneer XV DV131 doe snot support all types of DVDs. Is it because of some technical malfunction or is it because tht model is old & doesnot support some present DVDs. Thanks Aashdin

Hello Aashdin, there are various reasons why your receiver might not support some DVD's among them the age factor but more significantly i think the problem with your receiver is the region coding which comes with your receiver. Receivers are coded so they can play DVD's from certain regions only this is usually to help reduce piracy. Contact your local dealer to help set the code to play all regions.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

DVDs and CDs are formated with regional encoding 1-6. If your player does not support the format, it will not play the disk. You might try looking up your brand/model player online to see if it has a regional patch code which you can enter via remocon.
