Most likely a battery problem, or the battery connections in the battery bay inside the phone. Try cleaning them etc.

I have an NEC Aspire 34Button phone with an LCD screen going bad. I have purchased 10 LCD screens through ebay but I can't figure out how to release the swivel on the screen part in order to get to...

1) pry off the top keypad cover 2) unlatch the clips in back of the screen by squeezing the arms together to release the display from the base 3) lift up the LCD display and pull forward to slide the hinges out to the openings and lift up and out.

hi there sir must go to your nearest service center to replace your LCD it must be damage already. the light of that phone was built-in to the LCD display. and that is why also your keypad doesn't have light cuz' it is series to the display light.
