Question about Canon PowerShot SD630 Digital ELPH / IXUS 65 Digital Camera
Recently, I noticed that the digital zoom on my SD 630 isn't working any more since it got wet slightly on a rainy day on one of the trips. Optical zoom does work with no issues. The only issue is wrt Digital zoom (4.x). Currently, i am able to use the zoom upto 3.x, earlier it used to operate at 12x as the specs are mentioned about the product. Appreciate any suggestion to get the zoom functionality working on my camera.
Wet has affected the circuitry and could be progressive-[in which case there will be no repair option] best let the camera dry out in a warm place. Take batteries out and let it dry. You could help it along by putting the camera in a snap shut poly-bag with some rice or salt in a cloth/tissue tie to absorb any moisture. As regard the Digital zoom- strict speaking it has no value -it is simply magnifying the centre of the recorded image. rely on the optical zoom and print up bigger section for better clarity.
