Sanyo TV is stuck on Video screen

I have unplugged the tv and cable cord, and I am not able to even manually make any other channels available. I can't change channels. I can only change language and change tv settings and change volume.

My Sanyo tv stuck in Please Select Language screen. I have unplugged tv, changed batteries in remote. I'm also am stuck. Tv is a year old. No power outages either.

Depending on the unit you have if you have more than one input (mine has four HDMI, Computer, Standard TV, etc) you may need to be on the right channel or input. You should be able to bring up an On Screen Display that will let you make changes, You might want to try the Menu key on the remote to bring this up. If nothing else go to http://sanyo-av.com/support/ and find your TV and look at the manual.

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)

Try pressing and holding the power button until the TV shuts down, then turn it back on and do a channel search (scan) to load channels that are available and see if that works, good luck.

Cant change from av to any input

First try a simple "reset":

1) Turn TV off. Unplug all TV inputs, and the AC plug from wall. Wait 5 minutes (I mean it, a full 5 minutes!).
2) Connect your normal TV source (cable or satellite) ONLY, then plug in and turn on the TV.
3) You may need to press the RESET key twice after connecting the signal and turning on the DTV to restore some functionality.

Now plug in ONE A/V component at a time to test. You can also try replacing any A/V cables (RCA red/yellow/white, HDMI, etc.), as cables do occasionally go bad.

Make sure TV is "tuned" to channel 3 before pressing the "input" button on remote control This is easiest done with the actual channel up/down buttons on the front of the television itself, or possibly by pressing 03 (or 03, Enter) on the remote control.

You may find that only one A/V input is bad (ex, VIDEO 1 port), while others work.. or they may all be bad.

If other functions of remote control are working (but "input" button still does nothing), could simply be a bad remote. Try eBay for a cheap replacement.

If there is not a manual "input" button on the TV itself (I think not for this particular model), and you still can't change AV input, you are probably out of luck. I recommend read included instruction manual carefully, then contact the manufacturer if needed. Instruction manual may be viewed at:
http://www.manualslib.com/manual/599522/Sanyo-Dp42746.html#manual

Do not attempt to disassemble TV. There are no user-serviceable parts inside, and even an unplugged TV can retain enough electricity (in capacitors, etc.) to seriously hurt a non-trained human. This TV is probably ~ 9 years old; parts are available (eBay, etc), but may not be worth fixing considering huge price drops on new TVs available now.

RCA F19421 Stuck on video since switched from dishnetwork to cable

Some RCA TV's have a "video" option that requires you to use the original remote control to cycle up or down the channels.
Also, try unplugging the TV's from the power receptacle for 30 minutes....some times, that will cause the TV to reset.
With the power cord unplugged, manually push the power button on the front of the TV to discharge all capacitors.
Ensure the 30 minute is complete before plugging it back in.
Let me know if this works.
Thank you!

Sanyo tv channel stuck

A POSSIBLE solution. I have the same stet...got it used, but it's in good condition.
It was stuck on a channel. I went iinto the menu and fiddled with the channel programs and "deleted" the channel and now I can freely change channels.

By the way, I could use a manual for this ...got one?

My tv is stuck on video

I do not know your original problem. If you are inputting video by the Scart connector the television will automatically read that input because the Scart has a priority, pin 8 I think, which will be at 12 volts when the video is not in standby. Unplug the scart lead and the TV should revert to Recieved channels. If this is cable connected, ie. not via an aerial, then I have not an answer, try the cable company.
