Frigidaire Front Load Door Lock Broken and Noisy FWT449GF

Replaced the door lock assembly on my Frigidaire Front Load Washer and now the door will not close properly and makes an awful sound like it's trying to but can't. Rechecked all of my connections between the new door lock assembly and the existing washer assembly. All looks good. I'm sleepy and the dirty laundry keeps coming.

Wasn't this part of the door lock assembly kit that I just replaced or is the something different?

I figured out that problem - the boot bellow was in the way, once I glued it down, the door closed fine.

    NEW PROBLEM: WASHER WON'T AGITATE.

Its looks like a lid switch issue. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it. Good luck!

My frigidaire front load washer when you try to start wash cycle the door will lock then unlock. Replaced the lock assembly.

Hello - From what you have described, if both the hoses have been cleaned and the door lock assembly has been replaced, then the unit could possibly be experiencing an issue with the timer, control board not communicating correctly or a faulty pump. In this case I would contact a professional to move forward accurately to properly diagnose and repair the washer.

Frigidaire washer door

Hi Ryan C - From what you have described since you have already replaced the door lock assembly, you may possibly have a communication error with the control panel not responding.

I have a frigidaire front load washer that gave me a error 47 code. what can that be.

The circuit thinks the unit is in spin cycle - Remove the door lock assembly and measure the resistance of the PTC. Shorted or open, defective door lock assembly. Reads around 1500 ohms, defective Main Control Board.

Error code 41

The error code E41 means the control board is detecting an open door switch. It might be due to a broken wire harness, broken door lock/switch assembly, or in worst cases a faulty control board.

Unplug the machine or disconnect power. Open the washer door then look for the retaining hoop securing the door seal around the lip of the door opening. Stretch the spring of the retaining hoop then remove it.

Carefully peel off the part of the door seal from the lip of the door opening near the door lock/switch assembly. Remove enough of the door seal to gain access to the door lock and switch assembly.

jahn27_447.jpg

Remove the screws securing the door lock/switch assembly
to the front panel. Once the screws are removed, lift the door lock and switch assembly then pull it away from the front panel.

Take the door lock/switch assembly out of the front panel then
disconnect the door switch harness then short circuit the terminals by putting a jumper wire between them.

Put the door lock/switch assembly back into position in the front panel then secure it with the securing screws previously removed.
Properly put the eased part of the door seal back over the lip of the door opening then secure it with the retaining hoop. Reconnect power and run a test cycle. Replace the door lock and switch assembly (part #131763202) to address the problem if the washer works fine with the door switch bypassed. If not, replace the control board.

Everything works but it does not spin

There is an auxiliary switch in the door lock and switch assembly that is activated at the end of the wash cycle for the machine to advance to the spin cycle. This is a safety feature to prevent the door from opening during the spin cycle and the machine will not spin unless the switch is activated. The machine works except advancing to the spin cycle and this signifies that the auxiliary switch cannot be activated and the door lock and switch assembly is faulty. Replaced the door lock and switch assembly (part #131763202) to address the issue. Click on the link below for the complete and detailed procedure.

I have a Affinity frigidaire front load washer and need to replace part number 131763202. The model number of the washer is ATF6000FS1 Thank you in advance

Disconnect power then open the door and remove the spring-hoop assembly that secures the door gasket. Peel off the part of the door gasket near the door lock and switch assembly. Remove the screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel then pull the door lock and switch assembly out. Transfer the wires to the new door lock and switch assembly then install into place. Put the door gasket back and secure it with the spring-hoop assembly. Motor wont run

Your door lock is bad. Don't trust the door lock light because this will fool you. Even tho door locks 1 of the circuits is not continuing. Replace the door lock. Very easy to do. Do this by peeling back the door boot at the lock side. Reach hands inside for access to wiring and remove door lock switch.

I have a frigidaire front load washer model fwt449gf. What is the best way to get the door safety switch out? The front seal appears to be glued on so that route is not available.

You can carefully pry off the seal with a knife or similar tool, focusing on the glue points which on mine were at the 2, 4, 8 and 10 o'clock positions. I then installed a door lock switch kit which came with glue/cement to glue it back on once you are done, but you could probably use any good general purpose contact cement because the seal wants to stay put on its own.

My Frigidaire affinity washer doesn't start: the "door locked" button doesn't come on though the door is closed properly

If the washer fills with water, but will not start the wash cycle or spin, it is 1 of to things. the most common for frigidaire front load affinitys is the door lock assembly. I have had to replace numerous of these. if the door lock indicator is not on when it tries to wash, you need to replace the door lock assembly. if the door lock indicator is on, but wont wash, it is likly that you have a bad motor control board.
