Question about Yamata FY900 Mechanical Sewing Machine

1 Answer

Need a foot pedal

I recently moved and now cannot find my foot pedal. I've searched the internet up and down and cannot find anyone who sells just the pedal. I called Yamata directly, unfortunately the woman didn't understand English too well and asked me to email her. Which I did, but never got a response back. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Re: Need a foot pedal

Your machine looks like it is on a Brother/Simplicity/Baby Lock base.. Check with a brother dealer.

It doesn't have a foot pedal or a manual. trying to figure out how to use it

Um, you're not going to be able to use your machine if there is no foot pedal. You can search the internet for a manual by inputting Brand + Model + the word "Manual." Then find a dealer for your machine brand in your area to buy a foot control or locate one on the internet. Be sure to confirm that the foot control will work on your Brand and Model.

The foot pedal on my Singer Inspiration is stuck on fast speed.

Hi lawoffice474...

Unplug your foot pad from the machine and the electrical receptical.
Try moving the foot pedal with your hands, back and forth as if you were pressing your foot on it.
Did it loosen up?
If yes then you still need some maintenance...
If no then you still need some maintenance.
Disassemble the foot pedal and take as many pictures as you need to be able to reassemble it.
Once you have disassembled then you will look to oil (one drop max) the pivot points of the foot pedal, like the hinge assembly, reostat linkage, etc.
Once you have it oiled then try moving the foot pedal again my hand before reassembly.
If everything moves ok then your good to go...
Reassemble the foot control.
If not then its time to replace it with another foot pedal such as one of these at this webpage below:
Please take time to rate me thumbs up.

I have a singer 514. I recently got a new foot pedal. When I press the pedal The machine motor runs hard, but nothing happens without moving hand crank -- and it will stop "whenever"

Sounds like you need to open the foot control and adjust the carbon bar, you will soon see it, just undo the screw and move it away from the contact or adjust the screw in the end.

Need a foot pedal

If you lost your foot pedal you also lost the cord. Take the machine to a local dealer and let him get what you need. Should cost $45-$50
