Honda 750 shadow gas leak

At the top forward of the two carbs, there is a hose linked together with a ''T'', from the T the hose goes over to the right and down. Not sure what this hose is or where it goes. After removing and cleaning jets due to no run condition.......I noticed a gas leak, it was comming from this hose to no where. Is this a vent hose that is leaking because I messed something Up when cleaning carb? or does it hook up some where and is suppose to have gas in it?

It is a vent / overflow hose. It drains to the atmosphere / street. If gas is coming out and isn't stopping then a float is stuck.

Turn off the gas and drain the offending carb(s). Next, turn the gas back on and sharply tap the float bowl with the plastic handle of a screwdriver as the fuel bowl refills. The goal here is to vibrate the float to free it up. If doing this process a couple of times does not free the float I would remove the carb(s) and look for any misalignment of float pin, needle or adjusting tang.

Now re-clean with a spray carb cleaner. Clean the air filter then re-mount carb(s). Next, Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a trap bowl ). INSTALL AN IN-LINE FUEL FILTER..

The fuel filter is important. Get a good sized one to handle the flow.

If all works out, feel free to change the rating to 4 diamonds. If it doesn't work out then you don't know me and have never heard my name. :D

2005 honda shadow arow overflows all the gas wile running its a 750

it can be very hard to correctly trace a gas leak.. Start with the petcock at the tank - make sure its not leaking, carefully move your way down towards the carbs..

If it is indeed the carbs - you will have to pull them and clean (possibly rebuild).. Either the floats are flooding / sinking and not blocking the incoming fuel, or dirt has stopped the needle from sealing properly, or you might have an external leak on the hoses / orings etc..

It might be your tank overflow - is the tank completely full when this happens?

My wife has a 750 honda shadow spirit 2003 dc that is leaking gas at the boot that fits from the bottom of the carb. to the front cylindar what is causing it and how do i fix it

This sounds to me like a carb float being stuck open. Turn off the gas and drain the offending carb(s). Next, turn the gas back on and sharply tap the float bowl with the plastic handle of a screwdriver as the fuel bowl refills. The goal here is to vibrate the float to free it up. If doing this process a couple of times does not free the float I would remove the carb(s) and clean with a spray carb cleaner. Clean the air filter then re-mount carb(s). Next Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ). Install an inline fuel filter.

THis should solve the problem.
