Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console
Hello , hightrike, You are experiencing what I believe is the dreaded Disc Read Error. This can be solved by opening the unit and thoroughly cleaning the inside from hair, Dust, lent. Clean the laser with a q-tip lightly soaked with Rubbing alcohol. Cloe it up and try it. Chance are you fixed it. if your problem is more severe, please check out www.playstationclinic.com Regard and best wishes, Greg at the Playstation Clinic

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

If this problem happens with the memory card when its in either slot 1 or slot 2
I suggest you clean the contacts of the memory card.
If it just happens when you have in Slot 1 or Slot 2 only,
Go to Radio Shack and get a Can of contact cleaner that has a Brush built into the Spray nozzle.
if you do not have success with that, you must open the PS2 case, and Remove the Controler ports and clean up the whole controller port assembly.
If that doesn't work, and your frustrated and not Electronically skilled enough to do this. I can get the PS2 in tip top shape, for $32 and that includes return shipping. I run the website www.playstationclinic.com
This should put you in business.
