Thanks! My son received that as a Christmas gift, he could NOT get it to charge up at all, we'd plug it into the computer, no battery signal, it didn't show ANYTHING on the screen, no power at all, so we begin to think it was a defect. But it did turn on when he first opened it up...so we just read the post to push the "reset" button near the headphone, I know the manual told us to, but the fact that we hadn't pressed it made me think it wasn't the issue, until I read this post! Thanks, we used a thumb tack----BAM! It's working.
Thanks!
Memorx MMP8565---If you are having a problem with it not powering up and now showing a battery sign at all, push the button beside the headphones, it's small and a tack works GREAT!

If that happens you have to push the little button in the teeny tiny hole next to the headphone hole. It has happened to me several times before. I find an earing works really well for pressing the button!! :P Mine has always started working again after I do that.

My apple laptops login screen keeps going on and off on and off i cant login

Try resetting the SMC
Before Resetting the SMC Try each of the following steps in this order before you reset the SMC. Test the issue after completing each troubleshooting step to determine if the issue still occurs.
  1. Press Command + Option + Escape to force quit any application that is not responding.
  2. Put your Mac to sleep by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Sleep. Wake the computer after it has gone to sleep.
  3. Restart your Mac by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Restart.
  4. Shut down your Mac by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Shut Down.
If your Mac appears to be running normally but isn't responding, force the computer to shut down by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds. Note: You will lose any unsaved work in any open applications.
For Mac portables experiencing issues related to the MagSafe power adapter and/or battery, try:
  1. Unplug the MagSafe power adapter from the Mac and the wall power socket for several seconds.
  2. Shutdown the Mac. Physically remove and re-insert the battery (if it's removable) and startup the Mac.
If the issue is still not resolved after following the troubleshooting items above, an SMC reset may be necessary.
After performing normal troubleshooting, these symptoms may indicate that an SMC reset may be necessary:

Light keeps flashing in spa

Sounds like control panel failure or the keypad is locked/stuck.

Try hold temperature UP & DOWN together for 6 seconds.
or if you have a Balboa 7 button controls, both buttons to the left of the display screen & down temperature.

As your lights are flashing the button might be stuck in the down position.

Display won't shut off

Its sounds as if you phone has crashed and the screen won't respond. The best way to correct this is to press and hold the home and lock button at the the same time. This will force your iphone to shut down. Once shut down, reboot your phone.

Laptop Display flashs then screen locks up

I wouldn't suspect its anything other than your lcd or inverter. Connecting it to an external monitor cements it. If it was the video card or motherboard it would have certainly done it again. For it to appear locked up would just mean the picture you are watching was the last in its memory to post. Meaning, if the inverter or lcd start having problems, the last thing it was told to display would appear to be frozen to whoever is watching but in actuality its the display not machine that is frozen. Try ejecting the cd tray. Better yet set your power button shut down when pushed. Then have it have another lock up watching a video then push the power button or eject to see if it responds. Then you will know forsure. Hope that helps.

BOOT PROBLEMS

Reformat the player - the instructions are in your user's manual, which can also be obtained off the internet at: http://www.memorexelectronics.com/html/product_detail.php?PID=650#

If that fails, get the firmware upgrade from the above-mentioned website

Boot Error, Shutting Down

Go download the firmware from the memorex site. Hole the power and left buttons as you plug it into your computer. It'll be detected as a recoveryclass device, the firmware program should be able to reflash the device and fix it. If not, hold the power and left the entire time that the firmware detector scans, then let it flash the device (including formatting the data area) and you should be good to go.
