Question about Casio Exilim EX-Z750 Digital Camera

Speck on lcd screen

Howdy- There's a speck appearing on the lcd screen. I zoom in, it comes slightly more into focus, then drifts right offscreen if I zoom to maximum. Does this mean it's on the sensor? I suppose I shouldn't risk opening it up? I've had the camera for over a year and am pretty sure I'm past any warranty - any suggestions on where to go in the New York area (or where to send it off to) for a fair repair price? Thanks!

I have this same issue but mine looks like a hair that is magnified ... I'm wondering if lint gets inside through the telescoping lens apparatus...

I like to get up close pics of objects especially plants and scenery. The problem is when I zoom in the picture is always blurry and cannot focus on objects that are not far away. Is there anyway setting...

most cameras come with an option called macro, this setting is for close up shots.on your camera it needs to set at wide angle.when choosing the shooting mode move left or right and choose the icon of a flower.if you adjust the zoom, a zoom bar will appear at the top of the lcd.if you try to use a zoom not intended for macro shots the flower icon will gray out and the bar will appear yellow,if you take a picture with the yellow bar it will be blurry.if you zoom out a little until it stops you should be ok. if you use a flash in macro mode the images edges usually will darken.hope this helps.

Internal dust speck on Canon A720is in same upper right corner

If dust is in the camera, it must be opened. I suggest not doing this yourself. Lookup a Canon dealer in your region and ask for support.

Manually focus the C-5500 Sport Zoom

Occasionally it is necessary to have the ability to manually focus a digital camera. A good example is shooting through the windows of a tour bus on a rainy day. The camera may choose to focus on the raindrops on the window rather than the actual subject. To enable the MANUAL FOCUS function hold down the OK/MENU button for a second or longer. In the lower left corner of the LCD screen you will see MF (MANUAL FOCUS) and AF (AUTOFOCUS) with AF highlighted in green. Use the left arrow key to select MF. You will now be able to use the up and down arrow keys to manually focus the camera. An added feature of the C-5500 is that when you are using the MANUAL FOCUS Mode you will see a magnified portion of the image in the center of the LCD screen. To get out of MANUAL FOCUS Mode, simply use the right arrow key to reset the camera to AF. Then press the OK/MENU button to return to the default functions.
