Dvd recorder goodmans door sticking (by 5 users)

have liteon 5005 dvd recorder, about 3 year old, over past months, when you press open it sticks, numerous attempts and then it works, what is the answer

I have Lite-on 5005A DVD RECORDER and the dvd cover does not open. One time I pried it open and it will open and close right away and I could not use it. When I pried it open I cleaned the surfaces of tray with silicone used for lubricating treadmill belt.
On the cover it says do not open. However I am going to open the cover and see if belt is loose or scratched and try to fix.

just put in dvd tonight and it won't play. went to open it and door won't open. just makes a noise when i press open and close but won't come open. felt like prying the $&%*^( thing open.

My door sticks when the cover is on when the cover is of (sometimes) I press to close tray then by itself it opens again. If I hold it shut utill the disk engages it will play (sometimes)
