KV-36XBR400 won't turn on, clicks and blinks.

I've tried to find the solution in other discussions and I'm having a hard time doing it so I'm just going to give the details: TV "clicks" when I turn it on, makes a sound like it's powering up, but it does not turn on and the stand-by light blinks 6 times. If I sit and constantly hit the power button, sometimes I can get the TV to power up. Another question I have is: Will this cost a lot to fix? I realize this TV is old but I really don't want to spend the money right now for a new one, but I don't want to overspend on getting this one fixed. Thanks for your help.

KV-36XBR400 won't turn on, "standby/stero" light

You are correct. You are right about the power supply and replacing with led hdtv. You will be happy with a Samsung led. Time to upgrade.

My Tv is blinking a red light at me, 9 times, when I try to turn it on. It will not come on.

Hello

  1. Nine blinks - Replace D 6116 and D 6301 on the "G" board, do not re-solder as this will fix the problem temporary. Or Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing, then change the switching regulator on the "G" board or check connections. Make sure the regulator is -12 or -13 (negative).

Sony KV-36XBR400 power on/off unit unreliable

This unit has 3 power supplies. The secondary is the one that is used to turn on high-voltage power to the set. You will see a number of blinks on the LED, you will get sound, and then nothing.

This part is on the main chassis, it's called BOAR D, and t costs around $300. You have to do a little soldering to replace, so call i n a tech

Sony KV - 36XBR400 36" keeps going to standby - blinks red x5

5 blinks is an IK balance problem. it means your picture tube is not drawing the correct current on 1 of the 3 cathodes (IK). there is a good chance the tube is bad. if you reported it while under warranty you should call the warranty company and pursue it.

Trinitron KV-36XBR400

Yeah I have a solution: I thought your site would offer basic guidance, but apparently not. I found better advice and specific guidance for free on the agoraquest dot com website. They have experts there who even told me right down to which chip pins should measure what voltage, and are willing to help people without trying to make a buck first. Thanks anyways and good luck selling something that's offered for free elsewhere!
