Plug in the PS2 memory card and dont put in a disk, and hit the power button once, like you would to start the machine. Then a screen with flying orbs(or cubes I cannot remember)should show up in the backround. Then hit the X button to enter the next menu.It should show your memory card,or two if you have two in.Select the memory card and hit X.After that it will dive into the files.Go to the memory that is corrupt and hit X,then find the delete function and hit X again. The memorys icon should fly in circles and get smaller, like its getting flushed down a invisible toilet. If you do not know the corrupted data, you may have to go through and delete memory untill you find the corrupted file. Also corrupted data can interfere with gameplay and make it impossilbe to load some games.I hope it helped.
you cannot save another file until you delete previous one.Corruption occurs if the memory card is removed from console or if you reset the game while saving or loading game remember this also happens when you are saving or loading game and electricity turns off.
Those Memory Max memory cards for PS2 ****, go get real PS2 memory cards. But the reason it has corrupted was it being turned off while saving, you have to delete the corrupted files and it will work again.
I don't know if you have been trying to delete the data with a game inside the ps2, but in case you have, try this.
Turn on the system WITHOUT a game inside, select BROWSER,
the MEMORY CARD ICON, and i believe the corrupted data icon is a
grayish black square. Choose options and then delete. I am also heard that inserting a music cd will work as well, probably just has to not be a game inside the ps2.
Corrupted data comes from turning off the ps2, or
removing the memory card while the game loads or saves data to/from
memory card. I really hope that helps, ps2's are meant to be played! Good luck.
if you can get access at all to the memory card look for an blue squares that may be there. this indicates that the is corrupted data on the memory card. You can select and delete the blue squares. My sons memory card from his original ps2 works fine with the slimmer one. He has occasionally ran into corrupted data which he needed to delete
If the memory is corrupted then the corrupted data will show as blue squares. Delete them. Make sure that there is no game inserted when you do this, as the game may be causing the freeze.
That area on the card is for system info ie. networking, preferences. You are okay to delete that. It will re-create data everytime you change your preferences.
