When listening to music or watching movies we keep losing sound in one or more of our speakers. When we first bought the amp we had no problems like this. Now if we even attempt to change the sound settings we lose sound in the speakers and the only thing that seems to set things right again is to turn the system off and then on again. Just had the system serviced and the guy said there's nothing wrong with it. Guy suggested we change our speaker cables, and monster cable. Not cheap and still not working properly. Any ideas? thanks

- Checked dvd player settings and changed audio settings and it seems to have fixed the problem. The dvd player was somehow set to surround sound which if played without amp would be fine, but when a receiver is connected then this option should be set to (off)? This seems to have fixed the problem, does it sound logical to anyone else?
This sounds like the amp has a system memory problem. The chips inside your amp that deal with it might be faulty or they loose the information due to a power loss, often caused by memory retention capacitors.
You can tell that to the repair man and see what he says, but personal I would go to another, try contacting Pioneer for a recommended engineer in your area.
