Not much you can do my friend , I tried locating and using my resources to find you a Brain and it looks like its discontinued, Im sorry to say but this guy played you, he sold you the head unit without the brain, its really messed when people take advantage of honest people like yourself. Try ebay here and there if not your just going to have to upgrade my friend, sorry.
My KVT-617 display unit was stolen out of my dash, but they neglected to snag the items under the rear seat: the "brain" hideaway unit, the HD radio receiver, the 10 disc CD changer, the navigation unit, and the powered subwoofer.
Everything was replaced via the insurance except the sub because the new system was not compatible with the old components. Make me an offer on the items you want!
Same thing happened to me on 1 that I installed. There is a long molex cable on back of the head unit that goes to a tunr/amplifiwe usually mounted under the seat. This is the ontroll brain. It is either non existant, or you need to plug it back in behind the stereo. Mine was the same way, mounted in a Ford Escape, it somehow vibrated out! Go figure. Hopefully this silves it. Let me know.
I have the brain unit I can sell you for $100 plus the main unit also I purchased the car and do not have the code to use the radio so I have the brain and the radio it will cost me $75 dollars to get the code from panasonic and I rather buy a new radion !!!! firstname.lastname@example.org
when you bought this did you just get the in-dash unit or did it come with a brain unit as well .........if it was just the in-dash player you need to buy a brain unit to control bass & treble and other features for this unit when pioneer sold this the dash unit sold for$495.00 but the brain unit cost $599.00 it was a price grabber cause they wouldn't tell you it needs a brain unit (the actual full unit sold for $1200.00 brain/dash) yet it works with other pioneer in-dash units the person you bought from probably upgraded to the avhp-7500DVD and kept the brain unit from the one he sold you but good news its a few years old so i would checkout eBay for the brain unit
hope this answered your problem good luck
Do you still need the brain? I used to have the VRX935vd in my car, and it was awesome! Someone broke into my car and stole the in-dash headunit for it, but they didnt steal the brain that was below my driver's seat. I still got the brain and all the cables if you're interested. email me at email@example.com
The original Avic N1 only needed to have the parking brake wire grounded for video in motion. Then, the latter series came out and on the underside of the in-dash unit, they have a foil sticker that needed to be removed and a jumper carefully soldered on the circuit board. Avic N2's had a switch installed under this sticker to avoid people from making soldering mistakes. I think the N2 brain may be looking for an N2 unit and giving you trouble. more info on this subject is available @ www.avic411.com.
