Sounds like you need a new Run capacitor or hard start kit (includes the capacitor), but you should have it checked by tech

SOURCE: ac is not blowing air

There is not much information to work with here. Here are the possible problems listed in order of most common in my experience.

Frozen system caused by Low refrigerant or blocked air flow.

Indoor fan has failed and needs to be replaced

Indoor fan capacitor has failed and needs to be replaced

The fan relay that is on the circuit board has failed and the whole board should be replaced.

The system has a wiring problem (bare wires or miswired)

SOURCE: Air conditioner not working.Tries to

Most likely a failed run capacitor in the outdoor unit. The unit either has two separate run capacitors; one for the outdoor fan and one for the compressor. Or it may have one dual run capacitor which is the two capacitors built into one casing. Usually either a grey or silver cylinder with terminal connections on one end. If you intend to replace, make sure the power is off first by pulling the disconnect or turning off the breaker. Mark all wires and make sure they get back to the same terminal on the new capacitor. Capacitors are rated by their capacity (go figure) the new cap must match the old cap exactly on the uF or MFD (called micro-farads) rating. Voltage rating on the capacitor must be 370v or higher (most new caps are 440v rated). If you are not completely comfortable doing this yourself, a qualified HVAC service company can take care of the problem for you.

SOURCE: Fan will not work on outside unit.

Check the voltage to the contactor coil, it will do that if the voltage is low. This is the 24 volt part.

SOURCE: air conditioner

Hi!!

It not uncommon for the condenser motor to blow out, if evertything else is ok. The unit will kick in normally and you'll start getting cold air inside. Since the condenser is not doing its job, the unit's thermal protection will cut off compressor until cools down and then will start again.

Replace condenser motor (around $100) ASAP and do not use unit until then, othewise, major damage to the unit can occur.

My a/c unit does comes on but it only warm air not

Make sure the outside unit is running, compressor and fan. Sometimes it is hard to hear the compressor over the fan. If the outside unit is not working check circuit breakers first. Set thermostat to call for a/c and make sure the contactor in the outside unit pulls in. If it does check capacitor for whatever is not running. If everything seems to be running fine hold your hand above the fan outside. The air coming from it should be hotter than the outdoor air. If it isn't get the refrigerant charge checked.

How do I know if compressor of my house air conditioner is turning on when I start my air conditioner? When I start my air conditioner the fan outside the house turns on, the air is blowing from the vents...

if the compressor is starting there will be a very small dimming in the house lights,if you go outside to the unit and start it from the outside disconnect when the compressor starts you will hear a whine type noise coming from the outside condenser unit that is the hermetic compressor motor operating,no cold air can be a number of issues, low on refrigerant(not likely on the new sealed systems) a bad motor start/run capacitor(quite likely) a bad contactor on the outside unit that supplies power to the compressor, one leg of the 240volts that supplies the compressor power, the fan will run on 120 volts, but the compressor needs 240 volts check the fuses.breaker in the power panel

Ac fan on, blowing air, but not cold

Check outside unit if unit and compressor are running feel the large line to see if it is cold. If compressor is running and line is not cold possible charge problems. You may have a capacitor problem outside. they go out quite often. You can change this yourself, Open up outside unit and the cap is the silver bullet with terminals out the top. Bad cap can cause compressor to not operate and also the fan. You need to clean the coil inside or at leat check the coil to see if it is clean. You can clean theis with a toilet brush do not go against the coil bit brush with the fins. You may need to call a service tech but try these options first. russ

I have a Goodman A/C unit. When I turn on the therostat the outside fan does not turn though there is a mild buzz sound. The blower blows warm air inside of my house. What could the problem be?

Does the cpompressor come on if not the sound you here maybe the contactor. Check float switch inside. It is underneath the unit or in front of the air handler. Drain stopped up need to blow out drain. Check outside breakers. possible bad capacitor on unit. Need service tech. Rusty

Outside Unit blowing air but not cooling and slight buzzing sound

The compressor is not coming on and some part of that unit has failed. Do you hear any clicking sounds along with the buzzing sound? Recommend that you shut the unit down (remove power from it) until a service tech can listen to it try to start up.

The power company-installed load management system is probably a red hearing. That system will either fully turn off the unit or allow it to turn on/start up.
