Question about Standard (CRT) Televisions

Sony kv32ls35u 32" widescreen TV fault

My TV is approximately 4.5 years old, whilst watching the TV, it made a pop sound then went into standby, the LED on the front flashes red 11 times, then waits a few seconds before repeating the cycle. I've taken the TV apart now in the hope of finding the defective component. Sony have told me that it would be uneconomical to repair it. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tv shut itself off while I was watching.

The power supply will need to be replaced. You can get them for $30 plus dollars and solder them in.

Sony tv went off

Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.

TV doesn't turn on, standby light flashes 4 times

4 flashes mean the IC5004 (STV9379)on D-Board went bad and the 15V supply is no longer steady. The IC is rather easy to find and inexpensive (around $2.50). Your main problem will be desoldering the old one and soldering the new one. CAUTION! - Heat sink on IC5004 is -15V. Care must be taken not to allow heat sink to touch any other components

Good Luck.

Tv stuck in standby

If you can not turn on TV set with the power button on the TV its not a standby problem as this would by pass the standby. Theres most likly, on a set of this age, top have a poiwer regulator problem and is going to need a trained tech to assist you in this repair.
