Question about i-mate JAM Pocket PC
Hi, The battery in my iMate Jam (almost 3 years old) drained off as I had left it uncharged for a couple of days. Now the battery does not seem to charge back and the phone does not turn. Even with the battery charger plugged in, the phone does not turn on (the light comes on for a few seconds and immediately shuts downs). Before I can go get a new battery I wanted to confirm that the problem is with the battery and not with the phone (e.g. if the phone circuit is turned on via the battery and the battery is bad then the phone would possibly not start). So any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
When I bought my Imate I had the same problem. Put the charger on it and leave it for an hour or so and check the results. Just so the backup battery gains charge.

I've been experiencing problems where the power on my unit goes off suddenly. I have gone in settings and insured that the unit is not with settings that turn off after any amount of time. I have kept blue tooth off. Basically, on an 80% charge, at some point, the unit shuts off, cutting off the phone and all PDA. I have to soft reset.
My unit is also 3 years old. If I am not using the phone, it seems to work fine. If I am on AC or USB power, it also works fine as both PDA and as phone. This points to the battery, but like the above poster stated, it would be a waste of $ to repair , if all I need is a new battery. In the reverse, it would be a waste to buy a new battery, if the unit needs repair.
As it is 3 years old, the Touch maybe the next phone.
