Re: Resolution Problem

After you get into windows, click on 'Start','Settings','Control Panel'. Then double click 'Display'. Click on 'Monitor'. Where is says, 'Refresh Rate'. Click on the little black arrow next to option box and select '75 hertz'. Click on 'Apply' at the bottom and then click 'OK'. If that doesn't help, you'll need to get into your monitor settings ( on the monitor itself) and find the refresh and change it to 75 hertz. Hope this helps.

I set the resolution far too high by mistake on my Gateway FPD1960 TFT LCD monitor. Not the screen shows "Frequency out of range". The side controls on the monitor do not respond. Please help,if you can.

Firstly try turning everything off and disconnecting from the mains. Leave for a few minutes and then turn them back on again. This should set the monitor back to default setting, and also the computer.
If this doesn't work, try connecting the computer to a different monitor and using the "display properties" to set the display card to a resolution that you know the Gateway monitor will accept eg probably 1024 x 768. Then reconnect the computer to the Gateway monitor. This should work as the computer usually sets the monitor resolution.
If this doesn't work the only other option I can think of is to use the buttons on the monitor to get into the onscreen menu, which should be resolution independent and using the menu to change the resolution.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

Frequency out of range

the monitors resolution range is only to 1280X740 or 780
and your video card may also need an upgrade.
The game may require a higher resolution that is not compatible with the the devices mentioned.

Hello I can't get anything on my screen except

Your PC is putting too high resolution for he VL1918 to display.
You need to set your PC video out put to the native resolution of the VL1918, which is 1280x1024 @60Hz.
You will have to hook up your old monitor (crt type?) and set the new resolution.
Or boot up in safe mode (hit f8 during boot up), and set the resolution to 640 x 480, reboot into regular mode, then rest the resolution to 1280x1024 260Hz.
Also watch out for bad caps in this monitor:

Have blank screen with box in middle Analog out of range 62.9kHz / 120Hz

whatever you are trying to attach to the tv is set to the wrong frequency. If it is a computer you need to change the video settings by attaching a known working monitor and selecting another resolution. You will have to keep trying if the new resolution doesnt work. trial and error is your only option here. it will work when you have a system that displays within that frequency and in a supported resolution.

Frequency out of range 11khz/ 119khz message

The PC is sending out the resolution that is too high for the monitor to handle, you need to set the resolution of the PC to be the native resolution of the monitor and set the refesh rate to be at 60Hz.

Out of range message

This is caused by a resolution and/or refresh frequency setting in your computer's display properties that exceeds the values supported by the monitor.
Find out the optimum (native) resolution of your monitor (in case of AMV 17V5 it will be 1280x1024 pixels), and supported refresh frequency (usually 60Hz for LCD monitors), and set your display properties to these values.

Monitor displaying out of range message

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!

This usually happens when you select a resolution or a refresh rate that is beyond the monitor range. For example if your monitor supports a max. resolution of 1024x768 then if you give it a signal of 1600x1200 it will display out of range.

Solution of this problem is to reduce the resolution or refresh rate frequency.

Changing screen resolution in Windows XP: First right-click on the desktop and then left click on Properties from the menu that appears.

The display properties dialogue box will appear as shown in fig 1.1 below, click on the settings tab at the top right of the box.

The areas worth noting are:

Screen Resolution
This slide bar is what you use to change the resolution, the options you have will depend on your graphics card and monitor, but the standard options are 800x600, 1024x768 and 1152x864.

Normally the default (in XP) is set to 800x600 which means the display will be 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.

How to Change the Screen Refresh Rate of Your Monitor loadTOCNode(2, 'summary');
  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Display.

Alternatively, right-click the desktop, and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Settings tab, and then click Advanced.
  3. Click the Monitor tab, and then click the screen refresh rate that you want to use.
  • The default refresh rate setting is 60 Hertz (HZ); however, your monitor may support a higher setting. Check your manufacturer's documentation for information about the settings that your monitor supports.
  • If you use a higher refresh rate, you can reduce the rate that your screen flickers; however, if you specify a refresh rate that is too high for your monitor, your screen may become unusable and your hardware may be damaged.
  • Changes to the refresh rate affect all users that log on to the computer.

Frequency out of range, it read , please change the display mode to 1440 + 900 with 60Hz.

You need to Set the Desktop Display Settings to match those advised by the monitor... in other words, your desktop's resolution settings aren't supported by that monitor, so right click on desktop, choose settings, and change the resolution (1440 x 900 ) and set the Refresh Rate (60 Hz).

AOC 771S monitor always appear "not support out of range even if i already set my resolution to lowest.

the lowest resolution is not always supported. by the range maybe referring to the frequency. change that, that should work. if you are not sure, look at your monitors manual, it will tell you resolution as well as frequency optimal settings
