The "v" key is malfunctional. It does not input if I key it alone. The letter appears when I type a word with the letter v in it, but the spelling is wrong. It shows up after three letters or so. Sometimes it seems like predictive text input, appearing after the letters i, w, o, e, r, or t. The letter would type itself whenever I select an area to input text.

Is this a laptop, phone, or a pc keyboard?

If it's a PC keyboard you might be able to pop the key out and clean under it. I have went as far to clean PC keyboards in the dishwasher. (low heat, no soap, no high temp dry... and then shake all excess water out... and let dry for a week or two.. before you plug it back up.) But do this at your own risk.

If this is a phone, and it is on a touch screen, then try going into settings and changing from samsung keyboard to default android keyboard.. or vice versa.

SOURCE: the letter w is appearing after every letter I type

I am assuming you are using XP and not Vista, follow these instructions to check the keyboard

Go to Start/Control Panel/Regional and Language Options/languages/settings

Look at the top drop down choices and make sure the keyboard input text is in the language for your country

Vista is a similar operation. Just follow your nose

SOURCE: different letters appear when typing a certain

Hi,

I see that when typing in on the keyboard some letters appear as well like for "s' the letter "w" shows up as well.

Was there any liquid spilled on the keyboard? if none then you can try cleaning OFF any unwanted software on you computer, then perform a disk defragmentation on the machine just to have everything in proper order for the windows side.

After doing what was said above restart the computer and try the keyboard again if still the issue is the same, i suggest that you back up any personal stuff like pictures and emails if ever because reformatting the Hard drive and windows back to factory defaults will be next to see if the issue will still be the same after reinstalling windows back to defaults.

If the issue is still the same after reinstalling windows then this is going to be considered a hardware failure to the keyboard and replacing the keyboard will be the next best thing to be done.

Unless Liquid was the cause then the issue may differ if the motherboard was the one causing the letters to type in with other letters which is not common.

Not letting me put in the address

It searches the database for street names. keep typing your street name until it is the only one availiable. If it cannot find your street, then either: you are spelling it wrong, you have the wrong city/state or the street is newer than the database

When trying to text incorrect letters appear

There should be an option somewhere when you are in the message menu on how to switch from the text mode that tries to finish your words for you to the text mode where you have to push the button however many times to get the the single letter you want. Although if you are in the auto finish mode you can simply ignore what it's suggesting and continue spelling out the word yourself if you want. example: hit 9 6 8 one time each to spell the word "you"..buy if your trying to be able to short hand text like "thk u" your gonna have to look around in your text mode settings.

Lock switch stays on

The light goes on to indicate that the shift lock is engaged, so all letter type in upper case (capital) letters, or on machines with "spell check" to indicate a mis-spelled word. It should go out when you hit eithor left or right shift keys, correct the mis-spelled word or just continue typing.
If it just stays on all the time no matter what you do, there is a problem with the main board.
