Every time I print, the printer feeds an extra blank page after every printed page. How do I get it to stop this?

  • jvtaylor Apr 28, 2009

Every time I print, a blank page comes out before each printed page. I got this fixed once with a new driver but after a few times it changes back to the old driver. Now I cannot even get to the driver that worked properly.

I have an HP D7360 Photosmart that has been doing the exact same thing. This has been driving me crazy, especially when I have to print a lot of pictures at once or a long report.
After uninstalling and reinstalling the printer a dozen times, installing every possible driver I could find for it, and even swapping out the USB cable (who knows...stranger things have been the cause of problems!!), I just found the fix for this.
Go to the Properties page of the printer (for mine, I open the printer, click "Printer", then select "Properties"), then go to the Advanced tab. At the bottom are a few checkboxes, one of them being "Enable advanced printing features". I unchecked this and do not have the problem with the extra page.
I am not really sure, at this point, what else may be turned off, but just printed a test page and WOOOHOO...no more blank page came out right after it.
Hope this helps you and that the "advanced printing features" aren't something that negatively impacts your and my ability to print quality pictures and documents.
I love this printer otherwise. Amazing picture quality!!!

The blank page ejected after every print job may be a separator page that is used to separate out multiple print jobs.
Since you have not mentioned the printer model, i cannot provide u with exact steps.
However for your idea, these r typical steps for HP printer.
Please follow the steps given below to disable the separator page from getting ejected.
1. Click on Start, Printers amd Faxes.
2. Right-click the Deskjet printer icon.
3. Select Properties and click on the General tab or advanced tab.
4. Locate the Separator page box and from the drop down box, select none option.
5. Click on Apply, Ok.

Hope this helps you buddy.

I have an HP C7280 AIO printer. Everytime I print, it always form feeds a blank page bewteen each printed page (print page 1, form feed a blank page, print page 2, form feed a blank page, and so on).

Generally, there are printer set up programs that will let you chose to put a blank sheet or to not do that. If you have a disk or manual, look for the set up utility and go thru the tabs to find paper handling or something similar to that. There should be a check box you can clear to stop the blank page.

I hope that this information was helpful. Have a great day.

Hello, you must clean separation roller whit wet cloth or alcohol. Remove Tray 2, look for blue (usualy) cylinder feed rubber on it and clean Good luck. P.S You can clear paper feed roolers too (look at printer bottom after removing Tray 2) using same way!

Printing in page mode feeds extra blanc labels

Make sure,
you firmware is right one for that printer because in most of cases it happens due to wrong firmware and bad ADF kits. so check your ADF kids and if you find them fine the install updated firmware on in.
And put job seperator option always as disabled2168eac.gif
once you done with these all then turn your printer off and turn it back on.

post back if any thing changes and rate all answers.

Good luck

Printer sends out extra page everytime I print

either your paper size settings need to be adjusted in the software, or your setup has included a seperator page.

Tlp 2844 printing first page ok then prints another blank

First thing to try is a reset of the printer.
1) Turn printer off.
2) Hold down feed button whilst turning printer on.
3) Let go of the feed button as soon as it starts to flash and then wait.
4) Printer will measure out 4 labels then print out a Hex dump ending with a not to "Push Feed to Exit"
5) Push feed

Follow the above instructions, if you mess around tapping the feed button (not following the above) you can change the printer between line mode and page mode. To swap that back is another storey.

HP IIIp prints extra blank pages

HI there make sure that the paper tray guides are fully against the paper also try sending the job through the manual feed to see if you get the same problem. If you do not then it maybe that the paper cassette separation pad is worn and will need replacing. If your model has no rubber pad at the front of the cassette then you will have a metal hold over one corner of the paper make sure that when the paper lifts that the paper sits under the silver (Dog Ear) as this acts as a separator.

Hope this helps
Thanks J

Paper jam light is on

Hi! I have the same issue. The only solution I still use: select print from document with no paper in the hp's feeder. Let the printer go on "paper out" message, now put the paper into the feeder and press the print button on the printer. Success!
