GE Triton dishwasher won't drain.

Dishwasher about 9 yrs old. Stopped draining at end of cycle about a week ago. I was able to set it to rinse only, start cycle, reset after 5 or so seconds and it would drain out. After about a week it won't drain out at all. I did research and removed the 2 filter areas in bottom and back and cleaned really good, removed the bulb shaped plastic thing left front and cleaned it.
I can't figure out how to remove the door to get better access.
I don't know how to remove the sprayer arm or what to check next.
HELP PLEASE!
Also - minor but door won't release most of the time to dispense second amount of detergent.

It sounds like the drain pump has gone bad.

First, unplug the unit or turn of the breaker, then remove as much water as you can with a wet vac if possible.
Remove the panels from the bottom of the front of the dishwasher (removing the big door won't help you) Then, disconnect the drain hoses from the pump (squeeze the hose clamps with pliers), any remaining water will come out when you do this, so you might want to put a thick towel underneath.

Pull out the wires—use pliers so you don't yank the wires out of the plugs, and remove the pump. Look inside and make sure there is nothing stopping the propeller- you may need to unscrew the pump from the plastic housing check.

If there is no blockage, it has likely just "gone bad" but to do one last check: take an old, two wire extention cord and carefully connect each wire to one of the prongs on the pump (make sure no stray wires "dangle" by using electrical tape if you need to) and plug it into a wall outlet.

If the propeller spins, something else is wrong with the machine but if it doesn't, you need a new one.

Checking the pump with the wall outlet by the way assumes that the pump motor and the wall outlet are 120V.

GE Externa Tritan XL (7 yrs old): Standing dirty water

Hello, there isnt much that you can do, there could be a number of problems. It could be a slight blockage somewhere from your drainage hoses to your pump. It could also not be spinning properly. If you want to drain the rest of the water out you will need to get your drainage hose and lay it flat on the floor to a drain, this will stop things getting smelly. You just may have to get a repair man in, I hope this helps.

GE Triton dishwasher will not drain and after cycle.

Look at the timer to see if the contacts have finally worn off. The circuit board may have failed too.

GE Triton Dishwasher will not drain they water after it's cycle...thoughts?

Peace,
Cut off the power at the breaker for 5 minutes and then turn it on and see if the system resets!
The machine was in your home 3 years , and used for more than that by someone else! I can tell you by the model that its at least 10 years old!
appliances more than 9 years old cost you money to run and fix! Throw it out and do not put good money into bad!

The new ones no matter how inexpensive will wash better and cost you a hell of a lot less to operate. They are so much more energy efficient today that they pay for them selves in a couple of years! With a new machine watch your water and power bill go down!!!
Other wise you need hands on service!
if you got the money do it new!

Bless You!

GE Nautilus won't drain after Rinse Cycle

Check disposer plug. If a garbage disposer has been recently installed, it is possible the disposer drain plug was not removed. The drain plug is a plastic piece in the disposer that blocks the hole where the dishwasher hose connects. Also check the hose connected to the disposal. Mine apparently had a kink in it. When I straightened the hose the dishwasher drained at full speed (I recently had a plumber re-route a hot waterline. He must has bent the hose). Hope this helps. If not go to the GE website. That's where I found my answer.
