well
Comment by ttex, posted on Sep 07, 2007
Sorry, I was wondering why my fridge will not auto shut off? Keeps running around the clock.
What parts should I check to replace?

To Ttex:
I received this cooler as a gift and it is probably working fine; as the units' two fans in the back run do run all the time (common complaint and the unit is not Energy Star certified). Only the electronic cooler portion turns on & off periodically when the temperature inside rises 2 deg. above your setpoints (you will hear a subtle click when it "kicks-in").
By the way, if the room temperature is 85 to 95 degrees, the cooler has a hard time maintaining 54 deg & 55 deg settings (when to 59 & 60 deg respectively.

Not sure of what type of fridge you are refering to.. However you can try a few obvious things.
Try turning the thermostat to a lower number (warmer setting) to see if that makes a difference.
If you have an ice build up starting to form on the fridge plate or only a partially cold plate then you could have either a loss of refrigerant or compressor fault.
Is the compressor noisey in comparisson to its normal noise.
Is there heat being produced all over the condenser (black finned section on back of cabinet or underneath cabinet)..If not possible gas leak.
Hope this is of some help.
