Re: removal of base
Most LCD HDTV televisions come with the option to remove the base, refer to your manual for proper instructions on removing the base. But make sure the TV is certified for wall mounting before you do anything - some are not certified and will not be wall mountable.

1. Unplug all of the cables and cords from your GV42L
2. Place the GV42L FHDTV10A face down on a soft and
flat surface (blanket, foam, cloth, etc) to prevent any
damage to the TV.
3. Pull the stand cover off by squeezing the sides to
release the retaining plastic tabs.
(This is probably the trickiest part to find this, just feel around and don't be too rough with the plastic)
4. Remove the four (4) screws
(screw's specs: M4, 0.7 Pitch,
15mm long) so that the stand
base can be removed.
5. Gently remove the stand
6. Now, the GV42L FHDTV10A can fit securely to a
mount (sold separately) by utilizing the mounting
holes in the center of the back panel of the TV.
Please make sure to read the instructions of your
specific mount to properly hang the GV42L
Most TV's have the base fitted with a lock that clicks on the main frame of the LCD TV. So all you need is to keep the LCD on a soft surface like a mattress and check to see the lock linked to the main frame. Push to remove the link locks and remove the base stand.
Place the TV on a flat bed preferably your mattress and look for the base mountings. The lock and base mount can be slid off and you can use a good wall mount that will support the weight to be fitted.
Please find the link below for help:
On the back panel just above the inputs and in the centre of the unit you will see 5 X phillips head screws (4 in a square pattern and 1 in the center of these). If you remove these screws completely the base will withdraw from the unit. Note that the washers will be a tight fit when removing and only just fit through the rear panel so use a magnetic driver or blue tack to help.
If you lay the TV down on something soft but firm (towel on the floor or counter) put the screen face down on the back you should see 4 screw holes with the an (S) next to them. They are located at the center near the bottom. If you remove these screws the stand should then slide out of the bottom of the TV. Good Luck
Place the tv on its screen flat on a soft surface,
you need to remove all the screws, not just the stand one marked.
Lift the back panel and then you will be able to slide down the stand, when you have removed the back cover you will also see where how your wall mount will fit to the chassis.
Place all the screws back on the back lid.
