Hi Sir,
I need hlpe for my Sony Cyber-hort DSC P41 Digital Camera. When i put me camera on there only thing that appeal on the screen is turn the power off and on again. that is the only thing that appeal on the screen of my camera.
So please I need your help.
Lens problem : either a gear box is gone or the lens unit is not properly switching on and hence the camera side is not coming on line and goes into error.
If it is the gear box then it is not so expensive to fix ,but replacing the whole lens assembly will not be economical on this entry level model.

Here are some simple things to try first for a camera that won't power on, or in your case powers on intermittently. They won't work for every camera, but they're worth a try:
Make sure you are using the right batteries. I had the same problem with a DSC-p31. I was using 2100 mAH when they have to have 2400 mAH. I hope this solves your problem...it did for me!
Replacement of the flash unit or the flash bulb itself can solve your problem. You should contact the nearest Sony Service for the price estimate. I can give you the price, but it is valid only for my account (Europe-Serbia).
If you need more info please advice.
