Asrock K7VM3 mother board with AMD Athlon 2600+ processor.
The Motherboard is having a AGP slot which says to use AGP with 4X and 1.5 V
Can someone suggest the market products available
when I contact the technical team of Asrock. they responded as below:
The AGP slot on K7VM3 is the standard AGP x8 slot , as long as the VGA card you want to buy is standard AGP VGA card , K7VM3 can support the standard AGP VGA card.
Or , you can double check your question with your VGA card vender before you buy it .

Is the asrock k7vm2 motherboard easily replace by the k7vm4 asrock. my k7vm2 is dead and replacements are not easy to come by. I'm just looking for a new mother board to hook up to my hard drive and not...

You may be able to just swap out the motherboard for a K7VM4 motherboard but some of the specs are different like the chipset and graphics etc.

K7VM4 specs as follows >>>>

  1. Socket A(462) for AMD processor
  2. VIA® KM400 Chipset
  • ASRock U-COP
  • Hybrid Booster - a safe overclocking feature
  • FSB 333/266/200, DDR 333/266/200
  • Integrated UniChrome 3D Graphic.
  • 1 slot for AGP 8X/4X 1.5V
  • ASROCK I/O - default 4 ready-to-use USB2.0 ports on rear panel, default Game/MIDI port.
  • ATA 133 supported
  • On board default 10/100 LAN and 5.1-Ch Audio.
K7VM2 specs as follows >>>>>>>

  1. Socket A(462) for AMD processor
  2. VIA® KM266 Chipset
  • ASRock U-COP
  • DDR 266/200
  • Integrated ProSavarage8 3DGraphic.
  • 1 slot for AGP 4X/2X universal.
  • Supports both DDR and SDRAM memory modules to provide you best flexibility and save your cost.
  • ASROCK I/O - default 4 ready-to-use USB2.0 ports on rear panel, default Game/MIDI port.
  • ATA 133 supported
  • On board default 10/100LAN and Audio.

As you can see the graphics and chipsets are different although the processor sockets are the same.

This could cause problems if you are going to plug the hard drive to another board but saying that is is possibe and has been done before.

This is a chance you take when you swap out a board for a different motherboard although i suspect that the transition should go smoothly.

A fairly old motherboard like K7VM4 or K7VM2 will not cost that much these days. You will find both motherboards for sale on eBay.

ASRock Wolfdale1333-D667 and Radeon 5770 graphic card

Actually, one thing. Intel motherboards, like your Wolfdale is an Intel board, they don't work with AMD graphics cards. I've seen this arise many times, the graphics card is AMD and your MOBO/CPU is Intel... that's a red flag in my book automatically. Take it back and try an Intel Graphics card.

What is U16 on K7VM4 Rev. 1.03 MoBo?

Changing the CD54/74HCT365. M is rated 25 on quality and MT is 100 and M96 is 2500 and probably cost a little more too. But, what bothers me is that something else could be wrong and driving it to burn up? Asrock k7vm4 Rev. 1.03 16 Ghz and K7VM4 is the BIOS

Which latest Graphic card can be supported by my Asrock P4i45GV?

Any video card that supports AGP x8 Should work on this motherboard.

For example Nvidia 7800 GS AGP or 7600 GS AGP should work fine.

But a better investment would be to upgrade the motherboard to a PCI-E supporting board and possibly AMD Dual or Triple / quad core processor the ram is very cheap for DDR2 these days.

Upgrade would be best in long run.

What type of windows to insatll in k7vm4-motherboard

That board used a ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) Socket that has a small lever attached to it that will rotate the CPU out of its locked-in position.

Disconnect the main power cable from the back of the computer - the one that is plugged into the wall. Make certain that the power is off to the display.

After being certain to ground yourself and remove any static electricity, detach the power connector for the fan and then carefully open the ZIF Lever.

With the lever in a fully upright position carefully grip the fan chasis and ease the chip straight up. Be aware that the chip has a number of delicate pins on its base which is how it plugs into the motherboard and if any of these are bent or moved out of alignment it can both damage the chip and make it difficult to re-install it.

If you are upgrading the CPU be aware of the following:

You will need to reconfigure the motherboard settings for the new CPU

You will want to use thermal paste when attaching the new heatsink and fan.
