Question about Epson AcuLaser C900 Printer

1 Answer

Colours not printing correctly

I recently replaced the photoconductor unit of the C900 according to the instructions provided. However the colour from the printouts are not comming out correct. The printouts are coming out like a negative print. What could be the problem? I have tried some of the solutions here like removing the PCU and putting it back. I'm running a Vista business machine. It has previously worked fine till the PCU had to be replaced.

It prints and there a two faded vertical lines on the print whats the problem? like doing a colored book cover the strips appear making it look dull

it could be the photoconductor unit giving the marks. it could be either black one or the colour one giving mark. replace photoconductor unit to fix the problem.

Prints smudges in many colours

the most common causes for multi-colour smudges and streaks are the laser-module (or scanner) and/or the photoconductor unit (also called drum).

When printing, as thepaper is being transported up the printer, try pressing the right door panel of the printer firmly with your hand. If the colours are much improved then the printer requires a new Transfer roller.
1. Open the Right Door.
2. Remove the Transfer Roller while opening the shaft holder (white color) levers found at the left and right shaft ends of the Transfer Roller to unlock it. Lift out the roller.

2 Missing ink black streaks

Check the dev unit for missing lines. Also clean the laser glass with the supplied cleaner pad - though if the problem were caused by toner on the lens, there would be gaps in ALL colours.

Check the dev units first. You can also do a stop test whilst a full colour test image is half way through printing and see if the lines are missing off the image on the PCU as well.

The magenta & blue rollers on our Epson Aculaser C900 are printing in stripes.

quick check

1. are you running out of toner magenta and blue??

2. remove magenta and blue, shake them gently HORIZONTALY to evenly distribute the toner inside (the toner container internally has a spade that feeds the toner dust to a spongy roller then to the roller u see on the outside :) )). DON'T HANDLE THE TONER CARTRIDGE VERTICALLY ---ESPECIALLY WHEN U ARE LOW ON INK---

Epson Aculaser C900 photoconductor inserted incorrectly message after changing

Hey Marts Try this: Remove the PCU and the Transfer belt assy's Look inside the machine to the back, top left where you will see the cam as detailed in the picture below Open the right door and you will see a Green Wheel about half way down on the back side. Turn this wheel so the cam inside turns untill it is about 100 - 110 degrees further round (anti clockwise) than it is in the picture - basically make it go as far round anti clockwise as it will go Now try reinserting the TFB and PCU assy's in turn. You do not need to insert the 2 big silver screws that hold these units in place Close her up and see how you get on. If this has no effect, let me know and I will see what else you can do.
