Re: Power on won't stay on

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SELF- DIAGNOSIS INDICATE X-RAY. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC5A03 PART # 270P704010 AND AN OPEN R5A73 82K ¼ WATT OFF PIN 2 OF IC5A02 ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB

My WD-60639 DLP TV won't stay on (it goes off right after it gets on)

You should be getting a light or lights on set blinking in this case, and the set should have a self check if they blink etc---hold menu and input in at same time for more than five seconds and release both, the blinks on the power light should be a two digit code like three blinks, seven blinks which is 37 Let me know what if any code you find.

If you unplugged the set during this time it will clear the errors so you have to try to turn it on again, let it fail and do the check again.

Check for bad solder on convergence module. May have bad stk's. Do not neglect looking for bad solder on dsignal and defl boards. Mitsubishi is very prone to bad solder.

I have no power, i called a repair man, he said unplug it then push the reset button...i get a blinking green light for a few what?

The set if it has a DM unit when unplugged should blink for 70 seconds and allow you to turn on.

If it does not, if when you try to turn on green light comes on and goes off---do the self check:

Press and hold both the menu and input buttons for 5 seconds and release both; power light should blink a two digit error code at least 5 times. 2 blinks, pause and 2 blinks is the most common.

If the set has a reset button on the front it has a DM unit---built in receiver--even if it fails the green power light will blink nonstop.

Again, if you try to turn on and green power light comes on and then goes off---do the self check and let me know what you find.

If this information was helpful rate this solution as "very helpful" as I do this here for free.

Also let me know what you do or do not find as I am here to help you.

The Lamp being bad as well as one of the three fans in the unit not turning could also cause the problem.
Hope this helps,

Have a ws-42413 mitsubishi TV

This behavior could be an indicator of power supply problems or abnormal current drain from elsewhere in the set.
Modern supplies are, by design, able to shut down if voltage or currents aren't within the design limits of the circuits they are servicing.
Without some hands-on it is not possible to isolate the problem unless one of the forums deals with a series fault.
If the set had a reset button, it would be located on the outside of it where the user could reset it.
The reset buttons one finds on some sets is nothing other than a very cheap kind of thermal circuit breaker that trips when current is above its limit.
These are kind of prone to failure themselves.
