I have an old Toshiba CF3273A TV. The stereo has started to drop out. It will drop in and out, but mostly out. Does anyone know a solution for fixing it?

Re: Toshiba TV stereo drops out

This might be a problem with the Audio output final stage where it goes from the Stereo decoder to the Audio amplifiers. This problem might not be something that you can fix if you do not have an electronics background. If you do not have a background in electronics I would suggest that you take this to a qualified electronics service technician. If you do have a background in electronics I would suggest that you get a schematic and begin testing around the stereo decoder and audio amplifiers.

Cannot get stereo sound to stay on stero - keeps dropping back to mono then back to stereo

Before we strike at the some cases you may be getting a bad audio signal through cable or satellite signal. Atmospheric conditions this time of year are becoming inclement as we speak. We must be patient before we pull the cover off the TV. Wait and see.

Dropped daewood tv from bed. no pictures.

The circuit board inside is cracked and has broken circuit traces. This is common if a set is dropped. The usual area that gets damaged is around a part called the horizontal output (or "flyback") transformer. It's the part with a red wire leading up to a rubber cap connected to the top of the picture tube. The flyback is fairly heavy and usually there's not much support for the circuit board in that area. When the set gets dropped, the weight of the flyback can break the circuit board. This can sometimes be repaired depending on the extent of the damage. Often the breaks are very obvious and sometimes not. Some of the circuit traces are very thin and close together which makes finding and repairing the damage difficult. In some cases other parts and areas can be damaged as well. This kind of repair requires considerable troubleshooting and soldering skills, so you might want to let a professional shop give you an estimate for the repair.

No pic..or sound

a lot of times when a set is dropped the printed circuit board gets cracked, the only way to tell is to remove the back and printed circuit board and check; if not too badly damaged can be 'hard wired' across breaks and fixed

Sound is ridiculously low

if it is a stereo tv, there should be rca jacks on the back of the tv [red, white yellow] try connecting the rca outputs to a stereo system and see if the volume is any different.there might be a loose connection to the tv speakers inside.if you have a cable box hooked up to your tv, check the connections in back. you can also try bypassing the cable box by connecting the cable wire directly into the tv to see if it's the tv. if it is the cable box try unplugging it for a minute then hook it up again.i had the same problem with my cable box. hooking it up to a stereo system sounds like a pain, but at least you will have sound.
good luck

TV Tuner failure after warm up

Check where the F connector is soldered inside the tuner circuitry, it may have a loose solder joint there. Also check the inside of the connector where the coax is attach, sometimes the inside conductors spreads and do not make good electrical contacts.
Good Luck.

Toshiba cf35f50

You are missing the red color drive or it is weak. there are adjustments for that in the service menu or on the CRT drive board, but you should not attempt these adjustments unless you have a service manual or know 100% what your doing and how to do them. it could be the picture tube is weak or there could be a problem in the RGB drive circuits. Depending on how old the set is should determine or not it would be worth dropping any cash into it Good Luck
