The router's PPTP passthrough and IPSec settings assume that you're connecting to an external VPN server on the public side of the network, but it sounds like you're hosting your VPN server inside your local network. If this is the case, you may just want to have your windows VPN box in a DMZ, or get a router that you can exert more control over. Be wary, if you're doing this at a residential location, your internet provider will probably block or "shape" this type of incoming traffic to your local network.

Can't access voice tab on WRP400

If your wireless VoIP router was provided by your VoIP provider they will usually lock this option on the router since they have pre-configured the voice settings(sip server, phone number, password, codecs) before they deliver the device to your location. if you have a working internet connection already you can give your VoIP proiver a call so that they can remotely check the voice settings on their end to verify if it's working or not.

Problem with connection of networking and VOIP.

Go to your Run program on the computer that your are having connection problems with. Type cmd.exe in the box. When your DOS page appears, type in ipconfig/ release. Be sure to use a space between the / and the word release. After it releases, type in ipconfig/ renew, using the space as well. Close out of your DOS. Recheck your internet connection. Before you recheck it though, make sure that your computer's wireless password, if you are using any, are the same as your wireless router's password. Hope this helps.

I have a Netcomm NBPlus 4 Wireless Modem/Router and I have now bought, in addition, a D-Link DVG 1402S VOiP Router. I seem to have a problem getting the two to talk to each other prior to configuring the...

Set one of them up in bridging mode.

To get to the admin screen, check the bottom of the voip box to see if it's accessed through another IP.

If you have the voip router plugged into the Netcomm router, the IP address to access the voip is going to be assigned by your netcom. Assuming the voip router isn't serving dhcp addresses (i.e., 192.168.101 and so on)

FYI: Be sure you don't have both routers set up as dhcp servers.

You can acquire the voip router's ip from the admin interface of your netcom router.

If you are wanting to get them to talk to each other through entirely different IP addresses (subnets), create a route in your netcom router for your voip router. Bridging mode may make things easier for you.

Going back: If you have your netcom dishing out ip addresses to wireless and cable users, and you plug in the voip router to the netcom router, your voip router will receive an ip like any other computer on the network. Thus will use the netcoms ip as the default gateway and it gets messy after that --lack of connectivity.
