Question about Mitsubishi WS-65611 65" Rear Projection Television

Where is the Dm board? Does anyone have a picture for this model

Turn on the turn light blinks then goes off. With remote or on the front of the TV. Reading all the problems it seems to me that it is going to be the DM Board Capacitors. I need a picture to find this DM board in the back of my TV there a wires that connect to alot of different parts and I sure dont want to make this problem worse by breaking something

I pushed the menu button and the front panel simultaneouly and it blinked two times then a short pause it blinked 10 times total at two blinks a time. What does this mean?

  • MIimpact Oct 06, 2007

I took the back of the tv apart and looked at the seven capacitors on the dm board and they look fine. Should I replace these anyway?

Mr. Troy Love, I am looking at the PCB power area I see two caps that maybe leaking. Is the stuff that leaks out like rubber and the color yellow? By the way I love your user name and thank you for all your help so far.

I dont see c9a60 I see D9a60 or may be the D is a C. Are the both of this Caps next to each other? It looks like D9a60 is the one leaking on the power PCB. I have never change a cap is it that hard?

  • MIimpact Oct 14, 2007

I found the c9a60 and it is not a cap. WHat is it? how can I tell if it is bad or not? It is yellow and is a size of a pea. I wrote earlier about the caps that maybe leaking and I dont think they are. The rubber looking stuff on them is on wires through out. It looks like someone put it on the caps. One other question the part c9a60 where could I get this? Radio Shack?

    Thank YOU for your time

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR LEAKY C9A60 470 PF 1000 V PART # 154P400030, PARALLEL TO D9A57 ON THE POWER PCB. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT.

It sounds like its 2-2 which means Short protect(short protect monitors low voltage supplies). IT tells you up top what to change, like Leaky C9a60 470pf 1000v

Thanks your name sounds good also. Do you have the location for the caps? If they look to be leaking then I would suggest to change any. It can't hurt. Also look for C9A60 and change it also.

The DM is fine if the led isnt blinking. Your set is going into protective shutdown. Try pressing the menu and the device/input buttons on the set both in together for 5 seconds to see if the set will blink a series of blinks pause then blink another series of blinks. Such as 2 blinks pause then 2 blinks, Then let me know what the blinks were and I will assist you with whats wrong

Still sounds like a lamp:

TV won’t turn on
• Press the TV button or ON/OFF button while remote is in TV mode and there’s a source of power to the outlet or outlet strip.
• Make sure the TV is plugged in.
• You might have tried to turn on the TV during the lamp cool-down. Wait a few moments and the picture will appear.
• Has the power light on the front of the TV been blinking for one minute? If so, the lamp may be dead. Refer to the Power indicator
is blinking or fl ashing
section below for more information.
• When you fi rst plug your TV into an outlet, the Power indicator on the front panel will light and blink for approximately 30 seconds
and then go off during the initialization of the TV. This happens only when power is reapplied to the TV. The TV can only be turned
on after the Power indicator goes off.
• Check the wall receptacle (or extension cord) to make sure it is “live” by plugging in something else, such as a lamp.
• Something might be wrong with your remote control. Press the POWER button on the front of the TV. If the TV turns on, check the
remote control solutions on page 84.
Remote Setup might be set to the wrong option. Press MENU/OK on the front panel. Select Connections, then Special Features, then
Remote Setup. Choose TV (default).
Power indicator is blinking or fl ashing
If the light blinks 5 times, pauses, and blinks again 5 times, the lamp is trying to turn on. If the TV doesn’t turn on after 5 minutes and
then the light blinks steadily for one minute, one of the following options is possible:
• Lamp door may be open.Face the back of the TV. Locate the door at the bottom of the TV and close it. Turn off the TV and turn
back on. The lamp should turn on.

You can easily replace the lamp yourself by following the lamp replacement instructions. If your TV is still covered by
the warranty, call 1-866-723-6486 to receive troubleshooting assistance and a lamp replacement.
• If your TV’s warranty has expired, call 1-800-338-0376 to purchase a lamp replacement.

To order the correct lamp, you’ll need to know your TV’s model number, serial number, and lamp type—this
information is listed on the Service Model Number sticker (example of the sticker is shown above). Face the back of
the TV. The sticker is located on the right side of the TV.

Hope this helps :)

Half of screen blacks out

sounds like power supply caps or caps in the dm board

The DM board is the one with the digital connectors on the back panel. If you already have it appart, you may as well check the caps on all of the boards. The caps that go bad are typically Jamicon brand caps in 1000 uF and 330 uF values. There are also a couple of 3300 uF caps in the PS that cause problems.
