This sounds like a problem i ran into a few years back with a ps2.

This is not a machine related problem this is a signal strength problem. Most likely you have too much cord in between the router and the X box try shortening that cord as much as possible.

If this doesnt work try calling 1-800-4MY-XBOX

they will run a few tests with you and confirm my diagnosis.

you might be forced to run Xbox lve directly off your modem in an extremem situation or consider upgrading your internet signal or router

You say "it does connect to other computers on my network (Media Streaming) through the router" but it's not connecting to "Xbox Live"? If so, it sounds like a problem with your Xbox Live subscription.

Could be a few different problems. One is your internet connection speed. If its below 5Ms I would say you are blowing out your bandwidth and it your ISP can't keep up, thus causing a slow connection or even some time-outs. If you are at or above 5M, check what ports you have your connections in. Some hubs are set specifically to take the ISP in a certain port and have it looped through another port. I'd start there.

D-link connection to xbox live . works fine on computers

We had a problem with our Xbox doing this, take a cable from one of the comptuers and then try to hook it up. If that don't work, look at the MTC or the username and password information for the router which you might need on the router. Do you need a username and pass for the router? If not then you can connect directly without putting the pass into xbox. This may help, but that was what the problem was on ours and Idk if it will work for yours.

ADSL Zoom x6 5590 DNS 360 Problem

Yes the router assigns an internal IP address. connect it up then using your PC go into the configuration of your router (http://10.0.0.2) and look under system status, scroll to the bottom and under DCHP status you will see a list of all clients connected. Your Xbox will be listed along with its internal IP address.

Media access crontrol (MAC) address

Hi Stevetabor9,

Finding and Registering Your Xbox Console's MAC Address
  1. Turn on your Xbox console with no game disc in the disc tray.
  2. From the Xbox Dashboard, choose Settings, and then Network Settings.
  3. The 12-digit number at the bottom-right corner of theNetwork Settings screen is the MAC address of your Xbox console. Do not change your Xbox console MAC address; just write it down so that you can use it later.
  4. If you have a direct connection from your Xbox to your modem, you'll have to disconnect it and reconnect your PC to access the Internet.
  5. From your PC, open the following page:
    British Columbia: http://oca.bc.hsia.telus.net
    Alberta: http://oca.ab.hsia.telus.net.
  6. Log in using your Telus Velocity Internet Service account.
  7. Select Manual Registration and Administration of PC's and Devices.
  8. In an available slot, enter the MAC address of your Xbox console, then select Update.
  9. Follow the steps in Direct Connection with Telus to try to connect to Xbox Live again.
Registering Your Router MAC Address
  1. See your router documentation to find your router MAC address.
  2. Before disconnecting your PC from the Internet to set up a router connection, open the following page:
    British Columbia: http://oca.bc.hsia.telus.net
    Alberta: http://oca.ab.hsia.telus.net.
  3. Log in using your Telus Velocity Internet Service account.
