Question about Husqvarna Freesia 425

Walking foot for my machine

I just received a walking foot for my husqvarna freesia machine without instructions. Does anyone has instructions for this #4123573-01. Thank you.

The walking foot I received from the dealer ( 4123573-01) is thicker than my 1/4 inch foot so the screw to attach it to the shaft is not long enough. Do I have to order a separate screw?

Do I need a walking foot to stitch in the ditch using Viking freesia 415?

A walking foot would be helpful especially for quilting where there are multiple layers of fabric. The walking foot actually moves the upper layer in conjunction with the lower fabric helping to prevent wrinkles in the stitching.

For other projects, there may be other feet that could work. Your sewing machine may have other accessories, like this foot for Berninas Blindstitch foot 5

stitch in ditch Google Search

FWIW, it is very difficult to actually stitch "in the ditch" as any slight deviation will show. Usually, it is better to stitch just a bit to one side or the other.

Huskvarna 415 walking foot repair

Are you talking about an "easy feed" attachment for a home machine? (it's not really a walking foot btw) If so just buy a new one for your length of shank on the Husky.

Can you sew leather or vinyl on Husqvarna 415? If so, what tension, needle and foot should I use?

Ok. Depending on the thickness... garment weight leathers can be sewn with a domestic machine... Most often an even feed foot (the home version of a walking foot) is needed. You will likely need a larger leather needle and somewhat longer stitches than you would normally sew.

As for stitches looking messy on the back that is a top tension problem... you'll need to tighten the tension until that goes away. AFTER you have made sure you have your machine threaded correctly with the presser foot in the up position.

I am trying to figure out if I have a zipper foot for my Husqvarna Freesia 415 sewing machine. They are labled by letter and I have A B C D E and J.

A quick check of a random Husky owner's manual cross references the letter to a part number in the appendix. Alternatively call Husky and get the info.

No tension on bobbin thread

You might remove the bobbin assembly looking for a broken tension spring (maybe a piece of it lying in the bottom the bobbin case.

Foot pedal dead, machine keeps sewing!

There is no suppressor in the foot control of a 425. Only the control unit, which may need to be replaced. If the machine accelerates to full speed, it may have a problem with the "stop right" board which tells the machine whether to stop with the needle up.
You could have several problems, so go see a qualified Husqvarna repairman. You may contact Husqvarna customer service to locate the best one in your area.
