Is the ball registering left right up and down and just not selecting? Sometimes the ball gets dirty. You can clean them most of the time. If its the actual select button, it sounds like it needs replacing. This repair runs 65.00 plus shipping. The actual button is a solder-on button so it requires more attention. SOURCE: My blackberry is completely frozen and i cant press anything

You phone could just need a simple reset if the problem is based upon the software.
To do that click the link below to download the Blackberry Desktop Manager and the Blackberry Device Software for your Curve and run the app loader to reset your device

Blackberry ball wont roll

If the track ball is stuck, there's something that's preventing it to roll. Cleaning it should be the solution, but you need to contact the manufacturer and have them clean it for you. Because that track ball is not easy to remove.

Thank you!

My blackberry is just sayingblockerase6 Reset

Hi,

The Block Erase 6 Reset error may result from corrupt data on your BlackBerry device.
To resolve this problem, you need to complete the steps:
Reload the BlackBerry Device Software by following these steps:
  1. Install the BlackBerry Device Software on your computer.
  2. Connect the BlackBerry device to the computer.
  3. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  4. Complete one of the following:
    1. If the Application Updates Available window appears, click Update Now. The Application Loader wizard appears.
    2. If the Application Updates Available window does not appear, double-click Application Loader. The Application Loader wizard appears.
  5. Click Next.
  6. If prompted, enter your BlackBerry device password and click Next.

When the Application Loader wizard is finished examining the configuration on the BlackBerry device, the Device Application Selection screen appears listing the applications available for installation.
  7. Select the check boxes next to the applications you want to load. Check boxes that are already selected represent applications that already exist on the BlackBerry device. If you clear those check boxes, the applications will be removed from the BlackBerry device.
  8. Click Next.
  9. If the On the Device Backup screen appears, choose whether or not to automatically back up the BlackBerry device.
  10. Click Next.
  11. Click Finish to begin loading the BlackBerry Device Software.
  12. Click Close when the software is finished loading.
Inspite of this if you find the same error, you need to follow the steps:
  1. Remove the battery from the BlackBerry device.
  2. If a media card is inserted in the BlackBerry device, remove it.
  3. Connect the BlackBerry device to your computer using the USB cable.
  4. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and click Option > Connection Settings.
  5. In the Connection Settings window, click Detect. Make sure the BlackBerry device is detected.
  6. Close the Connection Settings window.
  7. In BlackBerry Desktop Manager, double-click Application Loader.
  8. In the Application Loader wizard, click Next to start the loading process. The Device Application Selection screen appears displaying the applications available to load onto your BlackBerry device.
  9. Select the check boxes next to the applications you want to load. Check boxes that are already selected represent applications that already exist on the BlackBerry device. If you clear those check boxes, the applications will be removed from the BlackBerry device.
  10. Click Next. The Completing the Application Loader Wizard appears listing the applications to be installed and removed from the BlackBerry device.
  11. Click Advanced.
  12. Select the Erase all application data check box, and then click Next.
  13. Select the check box beside Do not automatically backup the application data during the loading process. This check box is selected because the data on the BlackBerry device may be corrupt.
  14. Reinsert the battery into the BlackBerry device.
  15. On the Application Loader wizard, click Next to proceed with the loading process.
  16. When the process is complete, the Application Loader wizard will display the following message: The loading operation was successful.
  17. Reinsert the media card if one was removed earlier.

Got my trackball a bit wet and now wont work, what should i do?

You might have damaged some circuitry, but can try cleaning the trackball with alcohol and a Q-Tip. You need to roll the ball around with the alcohol-soaked Q-Tip, then let it try. This will have the nice side effect of helping drive off any leftover water, too.

My blackberry will not let me click on anything

Usually the button membrane under the track ball goes bad. If you're out of warranty try to remove the trackball and push the membrane back in place, clean it if necessary. There is a Blackberry Repair Guide that shows how to open a Blackberry and remove the track ball yourself. Once it is open it's as easy as peeling the membrane off the logic board, scratching its bottom with a flathead screwdriver. There are also third party blackberry repair services that will do this for you.

Trackball on Blackberry Curve not working properly

I found that removing the track ball and cleaning the contact and track ball with a cotton swab moistened with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol, it worked a 100 percent better when I returned the ball to the handset. DO NOT SATURATE THE BALL OR THE HANDSET WITH THE ALCOHOL!! ONLY USE A VERY SMALL AMOUNT!!!!

JVM Error 102

This is a Java Virtual Machine Error with your blackberry OS. you will need to download a BB OS from Blackberry.com and then runn Apploader from your Desktop manager software. This will wipe and replace the BB OS and fix the issue.

Sometimes a Hard reset can fix this issue though.
