If you leave the radio off for too long, or if the car battery dies, it will not have the power to store the radio channels and you will have to save them again. If neither of these has happened then it may be down to a small battery inside the radio that is used to keep the radio channels saved on the chipset of the radio that is not holding a charge. Or it may be a small faulty memory module on the radio that will not allow you to save the radio channels - in which case, check your warranty on the item and return it if it is under warranty.

I have the Orion 076L052040 19", i am trying to search for channels and save them, but i can only search and watch them but i am never able to save them.

Hello
If channels are not stored during autoprogram mode, your TVs system memory has sopped functioning. Now you can see the tuned programme, but it cannot be got it saved.
During autoprogramme mode, different channels transmitting at different frequencies at that time, will be tuned by the tuning contol Ic, and each or them will be stored in its outer memory position as voltage logics. The tuning Ic and the memory Ics are two. Memory Ic, in most of the sets will be a small one consists of 8 pins, and can be located very near to the main Ic.
You yoursef can replace it. Look for this ic and resolder it out from the main printed circuit board, go for the same type and number replace it. There is only 8 soldering points are to be desoldered and to resolder. All four pins in one side of that Ic will be connected to earth, that is negatve supply rail. Only four of them are active, and among the one will be always left free in most sets. Ok.
Take all precautions while we work with an electrical equipement. Keep children away from you, and not even allow them to come beside you while you are working. Let an adult be beside you as a precautionary measure.

Trying to program it

First you'll need a list of frequencies to program. For a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area, visit:

www.RadioReference.com

Once you have your freq list, power the scanner ON,and:

1. Press PGM. Then enter the channel number (1-200) where you want to store a frequency, then press PGM again.
2. Use the keys to enter the frequency (including the decimal point) you want to store.
3. Press ENT to store the frequency into the channel. Press DELAY if you want the scanner to pause 2 seconds on this channel before it proceeds to the next channel after a transmission ends.
4. To program the next channel in sequence, press PGM and
repeat Steps 2 and 3.

Operation
• To listen to a weak or distant station, turn SQUELCH counterclockwise. If reception is poor, turn SQUELCH clockwise to cut out weak transmissions.
• If SQUELCH is adjusted so you always hear a hissing sound, the scanner will not scan or search properly.

Need the full manual for your scanner? You can download/print it here:

Programming channels

The only thing I see in the Manual is to do an auto search which will scan all available channels and saves them to memory. the faxtory setting is auto search. the search allows you to manually search for available channels. in this mode, available channel must be stored individually. the program sets your favorite channel to appear when the tv is turned on. the range is from channel 0 - 255. i hope this helps.

Radio automatic search

when your radio is on a certain channel the only thing it does is try to pick up that certain channel. say you go threw a tunnel or around the side of a hill. or in a residential neiborhood. the radio has a lot of interference from other things trying to pick up the same signal. there is nothing you can turn off or anything. as long as your getting a good sound on a certain channel leave it there,, when it don't pick up so good your loosing your signal and need to find a station that is closer to were you are. good-luck ray
