Blank screen on HDMI connection

Using a Sony A-10 rear projection LCD monitor with a HDMI cable for the past 3 years. Last night it just quit working. I then hooked up via componenet hookup (red, blue, green) and the monitor has the "welcome powering up screen" but it never goes anywhere from there. Help.

Re: blank screen on HDMI connection

I have good new and bad news The good news first: believe it or not you have solved the problem and the HDMI port on you TV is not working. Now for the bad news: What ever damaged the HDMI port on your TV also damaged the DVR UNIT, and it looks like it could be in the switching section. What that is is the point where viedo is delivered to the various ports by the DVR Unit, I should call it more of a crossover point, since the signal is processed differently by the various output ports. I would suggest that you get the HGMI port in yoyr TV repaired and the DVR repaired at a qualified shop. There are no repairs that you can affect on these devices.

HDMI connection isn't seen by TV

My first suspicion rests with the quality of the HDMI cable? Expensive isn't ALWAYS good, although "cheapies" can be the worst offenders. If you have a friend that'd volunteer a temporary swap, you could determine if this is your problem. Sony rarely exhibits this type of problem.

Snow on tv cant get bk to pic

Hi nelle_king my name is MikeHouston of DISH Network. There are a couple things we can do to get thatpicture back. What you will need to do is make sure the TV is on channel 3 orthe right input, and if the picture is still snowy and we are on the correctchannel/input you will need to reset the receiver by unplugging it for 10seconds and plugging it back in. After you plug it back in it will power up byitself and you should see the DISH Network screen. I will send the steps tohelp with the setup. b> # Sequentially follow the below steps until problem is resolved or until instructed to skip to another step 1 Verify HDMI Connections Verify HDMI cables are connected from the DISH receiver HDMI Out to the HDMI In of the Revue, and the HDMI Out of the Revue to the HDMI In of the TV. 2 Reset Revue and DISH Receiver Unplug both the Revue and DISH receiver for 10 seconds and plug back in. It may take up to 5 minutes for the reset process to be completed. 3 Check Receiver-to-TV Configuration Check that the wiring between your DISH receiver and your TV is configured properly using 4 Secure Receiver-to-TV Connections Check that the connections between your DISH receiver, your TV, and any component(s) (VCR, DVD Player, etc.) in between are secure. 5 Bypass Revue Bypass the Revue and directly connect the DISH receiver to the TV using an HDMI cable.

Connect the hdmi out put of a bush hd set top box

its telling you that you cant use the format that your source is set up for .. like 1080P wont play on a monitor that wont support that ..also hdmi requires an exchange of information between units before it will allow 1080 resolution (thats to prevent recording of high resolution material) the adapter may block that exchange .. if you set the source to 720 or less resolution then its likely to start working .. problem is .. if you cant see it how do you set it .. if your remote has an obvious button for that then you can just try selecting different modes and wait 10 seconds to see if it works .. if its not obvious then perhaps you can temporarily use svideo or composite in order to set up the source machine ..

No longer getting video feed through Home Theatre receiver

HDMI ports 5 and 6 on the back of tv no longer are working. (We had a series of thunder storms so don't know if that is how they got damaged or if it was something else) but moved HDMI input cable to HDMI port 4 on tv and everything is working again. Service call placed for warranty service on tv to repair bad ports.

Tivo HD displays ''hdmi connection not permitted''

This happened to me many times with my Sharp 40" LCD. I am actually running 2 tvs of of 1 HD Tivo. One in the bedroom with HDMI and then through the wall into my kitchen tv via Component. ( yes whatever is on in the bedroom plays in the kitchen).. So this AM my power dropped out for a few seconds then came back on. When the Tivo rebooted I got that " hdmi connection not permitted" message. In the past, I would just reboot everything and all would be ok.. But today I couldnt get the tv with the HDMI to display the programming. It would show the tivo menus, but when I tried to play anything or watch live tv, the message would pop up again. The kitchen TV with the components was working the whole time...
So finally I rebooted the Tivo one more time. But this time I left the HDMI cable unplugged from the Sharp in the bedroom untill the Tivo was fully booted and a live channel was playing in the kitchen. I then plugged the HDMI back into the bedroon TV, and it came back on. Im not saying this will work for you, But its worth a try

HDMI connection not working

I have a DCT6416 which is essentially the same unit but with a bigger hardrive. I just had the same problem and was able to fix it.
First connect your DVR to your TV with the composite RGB cables and disconnect the HDMI. Then power your unit on. Then power it off (using the power on the DVR not a remote) and immediatly press the menu button on the DVR (not the remote). A white screen with black writing will come up. Using the down arrow buttons on your DVR go to the bottom line where it says "reset factory default" Toggle down to that and then use the right arrow key and your settings will be reset. Then exit out of that by powering off. Now remove your composite cables and replace the HDMI. You should be back up and running.
