My water dispenser is not working but everything else is. I have removed the water filter and left it out thinking it may have frozen up like it has before but when I put it back the water still doesn't dispense, What is wrong?

No water from the dispenser. I have taken the filter out and drained it and then replaced it. Nothing. Resetting does not work. Water flowing to ice machine is ok. What Next?

I removed the water filter overnight and then replaced and reset filter setting over the dispenser. I then waited a little while and then tried the dispenser and water began to flow out normally.

Everything normal on my GE Profile Model PFSF6PKWBBB French door bottom freezer refridgerator except the water dispenser just quit dispensing water. Is it frozen? How do I fix it?

The paddle that you push the glass against to dispense water activates a microswitch. Sometimes this switch can break off it's mount and drop away from it's intended position. The microswitch operates a solenoid valve near where the water line enters the back of the fridge. Then there's the wiring in between them. The water line doesn't go through the freezer. It runs through the refrigerator in a coil of tubing then into the door of the dispenser. Check the paddle switch, the water solenoid and the wiring and you'll find the reason it doesn't work

I have a problem with my water tap on the refrigerator. The ice maker and dispenser for ice works just fine. As you know, the ice dispenser and water dispenser uses the same switch. But the water dispenser...

open the refrigerator door and remove the filter. take a flashlight and look inside the filter housing. now take a long screwdriver and push it into the contact point where the filter makes contact. one of these contacts are probably broken, try either side and while pushing it in, press the dispenser for water. water should spray out from the point where you have inserted the screw driver. don't remember the exact name for the part, but i'm pretty sure thats where your problem is.

Water dispenser not working

I have a Hitachi R-M800GM.

When i operate the water dispenser, water flows out from the dispenser [not strong flow]. There is also water flowing out at the bottom of the freezer door [hinge area]

I think the line running inside the freezer door may have come loose? If so, how to reattach it? Do u have any layout drawings of how the hose is being connected.

Please help.

Thanks,

Rick

No water coming out of dispenser

sound like a crud in the line somewhere. Shut the water off, remove the filter element, and blow air in the water dispenser. If that doesn't do it, remove the line after the shut off, and blow air in before the filter.

Thanks for using Fixya
Have a nice day!

Water stopped running in the dispenser

I had a simular problem! I tried multiple things to make it work!

- bought new filter
- open back of the fridge... (dual outlet water valve)

Finally, I went to a different forum and found a unique idea.

First at the very bottom of the fridge theres a cover remove the cover and you should see the water hose running to the door from the back. In the middle of the hose there a coupler where the hose was spliced by the manufactuer. Now this valve once you separate it will not work correctly, unless you buy a new coupler (4$)... I'm el cheapo, I bought teflon tape for 50 cents (from previous project)... Wrapped around about half dozen times and made sure it wasnt leaking...

Secondly, when you disconnect the coupler no water should shoot out, until you press the water dispenser arm. If water shoots out of the hose on the bottom then you problem is really, really, really easy. You have simplely ice/ or another item blocking water hose to the actual dispenser.

I turned off the frezzer left the door open for an hour or so. I also used my wife's blow dryer on hot, and put it where the ice comes out of the ice maker. I would press the arm peridocially to see if the ice blockage melted yet. REMEMBER: door must be closed for pressure to push on the ice blockage. Thinking back, I might have been finished sooner... I was thinking the water dispenser would work with the door open.

If this doesnt work, then you have other problems... Bad water dispenser selonoid (you can hear this little motor turning even without water), dual water outlet valve maybe broken... Going outside my knowldege level at this point.... But i guess you computer board maybe going bad. Not sure if this computer has anything to do with water dispensing....

Hope this helps! My wife left me alone for about a day or two while she enjoyed the water dispenser...And she broke the vaccum.

Water dispenser inside fridge does not dispense water

Are the water inlet / outlet correctly fitted onto the filter ??
Sounds silly - but very easy mistake seen several times.
Is the water supply for the filter turned on . . remove hoses from filter to verify. - YOU WILL GET WET.

Ice maker not getting water after changing filter

Check the following:
Is the freezer door closed completely?
Is the ice storage bin installed correctly?
Is there ice in the storage bin?
Has the ice frozen in the storage bin?
Is ice stuck in the delivery chute?
Has the wrong ice been added to the storage bin? Use only
cubes produced by the current ice maker.
Has the ice melted around the auger (metal spiral) in the
ice bucket?
Dump the ice cubes and clean the ice storage
bin.
Is the ice dispenser stalling while dispensing “crushed”
ice?
Change the ice button from “crushed” to “cubed.” If
cubed ice dispenses correctly, depress the button for
“crushed” ice and begin dispensing again.
Has the dispenser arm been held in too long? Ice will stop
dispensing when the arm is held in too long. Wait 3 minutes
for dispenser motor to reset before using again.

The ON/OFF switch is located on the top right side of the freezer
compartment.
To turn the ice maker on, slide the control to the ON (left) position.
To manually turn the ice maker off, slide the control to the OFF
(right) position.
NOTE: Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. The ice maker
sensors will automatically stop ice production, but the control will
remain in the ON (left) position

REMEMBER:
Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice. Discard the
first three batches of ice produced.
The quality of your ice will be only as good as the quality of the
water supplied to your ice maker. Avoid connecting the ice
maker to a softened water supply. Water softener chemicals
(such as salt) can damage parts of the ice maker and lead to
poor quality ice. If a softened water supply cannot be avoided,
make sure the water softener is operating properly and is well
maintained

The Dispenser Lock (on some models)
Your dispenser can be turned off for easy cleaning or to prevent
unintentional dispensing by small children and pets.
NOTE: The lock feature does not shut off power to the product, to
the ice maker, or to the dispenser light. It simply deactivates the
dispenser levers. The ice and water dispensers will not work.
Style 1: Press the LOCK BUTTON to lock the dispenser. Press the
UNLOCK button to unlock the dispenser.
Style 2: Press and hold the LOCK OUT button to lock the
dispenser. Press and hold the LOCK OUT button a second time to
unlock the dispenser.

Soap dispenser not working

It sounds like the water valve has a clogged filter.  Shut the cold water to the washer off, disconnect the hose and remove the filter screen in the washer water valve.  Clean out the filter with toothbrush.  Reinstall and everything should be ok.
