Insignia DVD/Cassette combo player

Hi, I bought an Insigina player last year it worked fine untill last month. I dont know what happened all of a sudden DVD player is not working. I did put the DVD and it read the disc and played for about 5secs and stopped and I tried to put the same disc again and again and never worked and it was ejected automatically. But the VCR is playing perfectly fine in the combo. Does any body know how to trouble shoot the problem. Thanks in advance

Re: Insignia DVD/Cassette combo player

I imagine you have checked the disk for scratches top and bottom, if so you can purchase a cd/dvd lens cleaner cdrom as the laser may need realigning and cleaning.

Insignia blu-ray player only plays music cd's. Ejects BD's.

Try to clean the player using a bluray cleaning kit. Dont use the dvd cleaning kit as a few can cause problems. Look at packages and see if they can be used on blu-ray players.

If this does not fix the player call Insignia immediately as the laser can be broke and will be expensive to fix. These players have a one year warrante so you should be covered

Since your parents bought it, Best Buy might have the receipt in their name, I'd check this out. Di you happen to register it with the manufacturer?

FYI...the best suggestion I've seen is to hold the channel up and play buttons simutaneously....thereby causing the machine to return to the "factory initialized" state. So far so good for me. We'll see. photog1

No picture while playing DVD or VHS tape

Your unit has it seems to have developed a video problem. it could be in the video switching IC or the video processor. Its going to need a trained technician, who knows how to use an ocilliscope to find the video problem.. Good Luck
