Thanks for your help. I will check these items and with the service man that installed the unit. This unit replaced a bad unit that was still in warranty. I'm not impressed with Weather King units..

Hi! there,
occasionaly freezing on evaporator, severral factorcan be the cause since this is just almost two years,in this case if has no maintenance need to be clean your evaporator fin, debris ,dust particle obstruct the cooling effect blown by your blower fan,so freezing occured, this need maintenance perhaps they can check also the freon charge w/c is one of causes also,if under charge mostly freezing on lower bottom of evaporator occured, check if still on warranty date of purchased, call in on service center where you bought the unit or near service center of the branded name,if under charge you should ask the service man to find the leakage before recharging otherwise it will persist again the problem for a couple of day at time of warranty service, beside leak freon is bad for our enviromental athmosphere
this should be done promptly.cheers and have anice environment, don't forget to rate me,thank's

Sounds like the contactor in the condensing unit is stuck. That is why it will not turn off when the thermostat is satisfied. If the inside air handler is not blowing and the outside condensing unit is running, then this will cause the inside coils to freeze up rather quickly.
The contactor is located in the outside condensing uni in the electrical compartment.
If it is sticking it will need to be replaced.

Take the whole blower housing out. Remove the blower motor get the H/P, RPM and voltage they sell these motors that are universal they are called rescue motors they work for everything. Also make sure to replace the capacitor on the blower motor when you do the work. If this helps please rate me and do a testimonial.

Unit set to heat but outside unit fan won't turn on. Outside temp is below freezing. The weird thing is that you unit is putting out heat and not set to emergency heat

If it is a heatpump, the outside unit should not turn on below 35degrees or so. Below that temperature, the unit cannot effeciently exchange heat. When the outside temperature is low, the system automatically switches over to auxillary heat which uses the same heating elements as emergency heat.

I have a panasonic split system inverter, we brought it in november 2008 and had it installed in december 2008 it has been really great till now. The fan on the outside unit wont spin and keeps freezing...

I expect that you're operating in heating mode. When the temp outside is low, the outdoor unit will "frost over" and will need to initiate defrost cycle to remove this frost. At this time, the outdoor fan and indoor fan does not run. All you can do is wait for 6-12 minutes. If the unit provides no operation for an indefinite amount of time, call for service.
