Question about NEC ND-6650A DVD RW Dual Layer Burner
I installed new NEC 6650 in to my toshiba satelitte pro 4600. All i have is power to open/close dvd. My laptop does not recognize new unit at all. What could be the problem Thanks
Assuming the connection to the laptop has been physically made correctly and that your previous optical drive had the same problem. The motherboard of the laptop may be faulty in the way that the IDE channel may not be recognising any devices. Put your old drive back in to make sure it isn't a fault with the motherboard. It may be that it's a rare compatibility problem, or the interface of the NEC 6650 is different to that of your current optical drive. Failing all this. Reset your bios to the defaults.
