Re: Error code E1 -F5- Broil element comes on and wont...

I just did the self clean option and when it was done I received the error code E1 -F5- and it does have to do with the door latch. After turning off the power to the stove I was able to open the door and wiggled the latch and that solved the problem.......

Re: Error code E1 -F5- Broil element comes on and wont...

If it is a whirlpool, kitchen aid or kenmore by whirlpool you need to check the self clean latch asembly found on the rear of the unit. check the micro switches with an ohm meter. always remember to unplug the oven before you test any thing or replace parts. not sure why the broil wouldnt shut off. but the f5 error is definatly related to the door latch.

My oven preheated fine and when I put the stuff in the oven the broiler element was still on and wouldn't go off. Do you know what would cause this?

It sounds like the broil relay contacts welded themselves shut (closed). You will need to replace the Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

I'm getting an E1 f5 error code and my oven won't light

The F5-E1 error code means that their is a problem with the switch on the self clean door (the switch) is telling the control board that the door is locked even though it may be open so it will not let the oven come on

Whirlpool oven question...FSEO on display after about 5 mins of oven operation..beeps continuously, oven shuts off...dinner ruined!

If you receive error codes F5-E0, F5-E1 or F5-E2, the door and latch switch need checking and possible replacement.

The door switch is #12 in the diagram (click image for zoom)...

Hope this helps.

Was cleaning the oven door push the door shut will not open there is an error E1 F5 whirlppol range with radiant heating element

That is a latch switch error code. Check the oven latch switch. It's possible some cleaning fluid got into the switch. In That case the switch may have to be replaced.

the broiler came on automatically??? not a sensor issue. sounds as if you have a broken wire perhaps, or a faulty control panel energizing the broil element w/o being prompted to. does it say its broiling when element comes on??

Whilrpool Self Cleaning Range Door won't unlock

try this 1. Verify error code by pressing and holding CANCEL/OFF key for 5 seconds.
Momentarily (less than 5 sec.) press CANCEL key again to remove error code
2. Press and hold any key for 1 minute until F2 E0 code is displayed.
3. Cancel F2 E0 error code.
4. Program and start the clean mode. Observe to see if door locks. If it does not,
inspect the locking mechanism from the solenoid to the latch pawl and door to
find the cause of the problem. If the door is not locking, then 1 minute from the
start of clean, the F5 E1 code will again be displayed. Steps 1 through 3 will
have to be repeated before another clean can be started.
5. Once any mechanical problems with the latch mechanism have been corrected,
program and start a clean cycle (after, if necessary, clearing F5 E1 error code)
to ensure proper operation of the door lock. Immediately cancel the clean mode to observe proper operation of door unlock
