Hey! For no reason at all, my buttons on my keypad just won't work. Only the on/off button and numbers 5 and 6! And it means I can't even type my pin in to connect. Please can someone help me!

Same Problem

-   I had the same problem with a razor: only the on/off key worked. The solution that worked for me was a simple cleaning, I didnt have to buy a membrane. To do this, you have to take the top apart (the part that has the camera), and clean a connector with alcohol. Its a bit challenging, so I'll explain. First you will need to take the 4 front tiny rubbers out of their spots (near the big LCD screen), one in each corner then you will need a special STAR screw driver, ( I used a tiny flat-head screwdriver and was careful not to strip the screw head). Next you will have to pry the back open with a small flat screw driver. There are two connectors visible, one connects to the camera the other goes back into the hinge of the phone. You'll need to clean the connecter that goes back into the phones hinge. Gently pry the silver top of the connector until it seperates and clean it with a q-tip and alcohol, let it dry, reconnect it, then try the phone out. I had to clean it 2 or 3 times so i wouldnt screw the phone back up until you try it, but eventually it worked good as new. -   simiytoz

-   I have the same problem. I live in a high desert, and the weather here goes from 20 degrees at night to 90 degrees in the day.
One day though i was laying in the sun at only 80 degrees and now my keypad won't work. This phone has been in more extreme weather than that though.
I can turn it on, but only if i take out the battery then put it back in.
After that, it stays on, but if i push any one of the buttons, it will respond to it, but if i push any others, it will ignore the last action and respond to only the second one, then shut off.
E.g. If i push the 1 button, it will respond and show I pushed the 1 key on the screen. But if I hit any other button, it will erase the action i did earlier, like it will delete the 1 key action, and show I hit the other button for about a second, then it will shut off.
I want to try the oven method and/or sticking it in the freezer.
Will doing any or both ruin my phone?
And if I try any of the methods, should i take out my battery and/or sim card?
Hoping for your answers soon,
Thanks.-   TK11

-   I have the same issue. The only way I can get it to turn on is to take out the battery and then put it back in. Once it is on I cannot do anything. The only key that works is the menue key, and it shuts the phone off now. The power off button does nothing. I have taken out the battery and sim and let sit for days. No good.

If you hear the buttons click when you push them, it's likely that the keypad board is partially dead, which is a warranty job if you still have a valid one. If it isn't clicking like other buttons, it's probably something preventing the keypad touching the sensors underneath the phone cover. Take the case off and see for yourself, depending on the design of the phone, you may be able to push the buttons without the keypad - see if they work like that.

It is a humidity issue. I had the same problem with my phone. I baked it in the oven on the lowest setting for 20-30 minutes and it works fine now :)

Driving on Memorial Day weekend, finished one outgoing call and could n ot make the next call as the keypad simply stopped responding. Removed battery and SIM card, no good. Can turn phone on but cannot do anything else. Only way to turn off is to remove battery. Only 8 months old!

My daughters Slvr L7 keys just quit working. Sent it in and they stated water damage. At a 16 year electrical engineer, I looked at the keypad and it was not water damage but the copper traces are burnt and discolored.
