took me ages as well. It was annoying me so much but now im free. Its not to do with sounds itself. You go to:
Sound and Display
Make sure your phone is off silent and its on loud at this point. No vibrate either.
Uncheck Haptic Feedback.
Your done :-)
I also unchecked audioble touch tones which are the noises it makes when your phone is on loud and you select an app and that. Oh and you can put your phone back to silent after youve done that if you want :-)
Hi.. This means you have activated the keypad sound, its very simple to deactivate, just go to settings-> tone settings, there you will get the option like "keypad tones" or similar to this.. just select that and make it "off".. Hope this will help you..
Just go to menu on your phone, open to profile, you will see General, Meeting, Outdoor, Indoor, Headset and Bluuetooth. click on General it will open to Activate and customize, click on to customize, click tone setup, scroll down till you see keypad tune, click it and it will take you to silent, click and tone. click to SILENT and your phone keypad will automatically silent when type.
There may be a setting that got adjusted somehow. Go into your Options (the wrench icon) and select "Sounds and Ringtones." Under "Ring Tone," there is a volume setting -- make sure it is not set to "Silent." Underneath that, there is a setting called "Play sound" -- make sure that's set to "Always"or "Out of holster."
Do other sounds work on your BlackBerry (such as music files, video clips, or alerts)?
open ur phone menu first. then go to settings, open settings, then select ring styles, then select second option it can be as ??????detail.(???? = type of ring style u have selected, whther it is loud, soft, vibrating .vibe & ring or silent). just select second option, then scroll down and look for key tone type, select it and choose it as off, ur annoying keypad will silent. thanks best of luck.
I've had my phone for close on 2 yrs now so I know it quite well. Simple (and obvious) way to test if the phone rings is to ring it from a land line and listen out for the ring tone. Maybe you are not clearly hearing the ring tone from all the other noise around you- try some other ring tones that have varying notes. I downloaded some of songs I like. I found that makes it easier to hear. Don't go for rap music- I found that was the most difficult to hear. I've managed to transfer an mp3 song from my computer onto my phone and use it as a ringtone.
Another way to test the speakers is to play some music through the "entertainment" menu. That way you can test to see if the volume adjustment is working well. If you can only hear the music faintly (as well as all other sounds), then there is probably something wrong with the speaker.
Yes, mine has a green light that flashes occasionally. I think that is the phone checking the signal.
