My TV has the manu pop-up problem. The menu pops up any time , chnaeels chnage automatically, even the tv switches on automatically.. This issue is not solved by applying the latest patch 05/15/2007. Any idea how to get rid of this issue? Anil
Solution (at least in my case): I realized that if I pressed the menu button on the TV (not on the remote control) and hold it down and then turned the TV on, it worked fine. So I placed a tape on it to hold it down. All works! I can use the remote to change channels, move up/down the volume, etc. The fix cost less than 1 cent!!
This I relized after a long unsuccessful list of different attempts. I even opened it up to see if there was something burned or broken.
BTW, while fixing it I was shopping for an eventual replacement and ws shocked SCHOCKED to learn that ambilight is not available any more. I LOVE that feature!! I was even going to replace the 3-year old Philips that was having the issue with another Philips...

I had this same issue, primarily just the menu popping up randomly. Found out, it was the wires running from the side buttons being literally over one of the axis boards and the capacitors caused interference. I ran the wires away and around the board and no problems since.

You may try to check the eeprom circuits. First check their power input line, is it stable or not? Even the power supply line to eeprom ic have a little change/not stable, then you need to suspect the voltage line have some thing not stable, please check fileter cap and regulation ic first. Any more info on plasma tv info you can go to this site to get the tips, http://www.fastrepairguide.com

The display keep returning to the display set-up menu screen. When you enter a channel it will display the picture but within seconds the display will return to the set-up menu screen.

TV used to just shut off and turn itself back on rarely, now the menu appears every 2 minutes on avg. I used to be able to hit the menu button on the remote to turn it off, now that doesn't work. i have to turn the TV off and on.
We have the same problem with out phillips flat screen. We've been told twice from phillips that our TV needed a software upgrade. When we went through the motions we determined that our tv already had the latest software. Still have the problem. Phillips says they have no idea what the issue could be, but I see people talking about this issue all over the web. Seems like Phillips is just ignoring a known defect???
