Solenoid assembly on starter motor is sticking. See if you can clean it out or replace that part only.

How to replace plastic blades on a challenge mower

Dave, Remove plug wire, raise mower, or tilt on it's side to access blade. Remove center bolt holding blade on, noting the position so as not to install new blade upside down. Install new blade correctly and tighten blade bolt tight. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

Blade will not disingage

Hi Randy:
With the motor off, look at the blade drive pulleys and belt while your helper moves the control lever. I'm suspecting that the cable from the control has become disconnected from the Idler. If the Idler is held in "cut" position with a spring, if the linkage is disconnected the blades turn.

Loose or missing nut or washer would be the most obvious thing.

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A PUSH MOWER AT A FLEE MKT..NEVERNHEARD OF A QUATTRO MOWER...IT HAS A 22 IN BLADE..I HAVE AN OLD 21 IN BLADE FROM A L-BOY..CAN I USE THAT ON THIS MOWER OR MUST I BUY NEW 22 IN BLADE ???...

i just looked up Quattro mower they are a 4 stroke engine and yes i would buy a 22 inch blade but be sure it fits this mower PS go to wall mart and check out their blades they are reduced now.

Mower won't start, it is a Yard maching with 5.75 hp B&S engine, cleaned carburator, replaced gas in tank in case it was stale.

check your spark plug and also check to be sure you have spark. if you have no spark,,,your control cable has probley streatched and not letting your kill switch disingage. there is a cable that runs down to the engine. follow it down and remove the cover that it goes into. unhook the black wire and try to start the engine. if it starts, put new cable on.

There is no fire. turn on no nothing. bought new battery nothing.

Make sure your sitting on the seat, disingage the blade, press down on the gas, brake and then turn the key. IF these things are not done the unit will not start for safety reasons. Try this, if you have more problems after this just post back a clarification.

disingage dv unit lower transport assembly remove blue screw from drum unit take drum unit out remove drum lock towards the front remove charge assemby remove drum reinstall drum remember to apply drum powder and replacement of drum blade is recommended reinstall

Mower shakes

sounds like you bent the crank - remove the spark plug , tie the shut off handle closed with a rope , then raise mower up so you can spin the blade . look at the blade bolt while you spin blade . if crank is bent the bolt will seem to wobble

You need to replace the blade clutch cable that runs between the blade engagement lever just to the right of the steering wheel and the the spring to the idler/clutch wheel on the top of the mower deck. Over time the cable binds in the sleeve/cable jacket preventing the blade from disengaging

Make sure you belt is the right one and not too tight. If the cable isn't broken and is working the lever check all the linkages and adjust if necessary and make sure the belt is in correct direction
