Will not start when Hot????

My Mazda 626 TD Year 2000. Will start immediately from cold but refuses to start when hot. Dealer checked with Diagnostic computer & also another mechanic who specializes in diagnotics with Jap cars but all 'looks' perfect. Another mechanic put leads from the battery direct to the Solinode and it started (when hot) without a problem. It will also start immediately with a push. Any ideas?? I'm at the end of the road here.

I have a 2002 Mazada 626 that would not start for up to two hours after it was driven on hot days (95+ degrees). No dashboard warning lights came on and there were no diagnostic codes. The engine would turn over, but it sounded like it had bad gasoline. After cranking several time, the engine would turn over but there was no sign of life.

Turns out the problem was the fuel pump. The fuel pump was flooding the engine because it was putting out at 30+ psi when it should have been in the low 20s.

99 Mazda 626 2.0 changed starter 3x's. No start

Well it could be an engine problem, or a bad connection with one of the battery cables. The engine would require more voltage to crank when it is hot, but not that much.
You might want to have someone check the engine to see how much drag is has when hot, by turning the crank by hand.

Refuse to start when hot smelling feul, will start when cool down ideling at1500 rpm.

Its a hot start issue.

Can be related to low fuel pressure or problem with crank sensor.

Also it can be weak battery or starter.

But possibilities are to be inspected to confirm what exactly it is.------

There is a valve that stops hot coolant from entering the heater box. It is probably stuck open. murf427

My 2000 Mazda 626 will not start on its own. When the engine gets cold I have to use starting fluid to get it started again.

there is an enrichment or choke to provide a richer fuel mixture for starting. there is something wrong with that function in your car. you need to take it to someone with a real diagnostic tool, such as a dealer, to tell you what is wrong and fix it.

Bad hot starting

he may need to replace the ignition coil... when its hot it gets faulty its more likely to give a bad run then you have to wait for it to get cold to have a good run

When you switch heater control over to full defrost it will not switch over keeps blowing hot air out of floor or front vents. Really hard to get front windshield defrosted. I would like to have a diagram...

Before faulting the linkage, contact your mazda dealer or repair shop to see if this is a computer managed hvac system which may be operating in a default position. They can walk you through the diagnostic trouble codes if it is, to verify the issue.

Mazda 626 shows hot after 2 minutes driving

hello, if the car starts to overheat it can be the waterpump if it goes hot that quick. im not sure if the waterpump is where the timing belt of external driven off of the drivebelts but make sure all the drivebelts are on and check for any leak in the system.
