I think my son dropped my camera. When I turn it on it makes a buzzing noise, followed by a clicking noise. The shutter(?)/lens cover is stuck open even when the power is off. The zoom lens is stuck half-way out and won't budge even when I pull it. The screen is black and has no error code. Eventually it beeps 5 times and turns itself off.
Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix your problem. In any case it could not make it worse Good luck!

This happened when the battery died while I was taking a picture. For some reason, the lens didn't retract, and when I replaced the batteries it wouldn't turn on.
I played around with it a little and (may not have been the smartest thing) pushed/twisted the lens as close to the shut position as I could get it. It was only after I took out the little round thing that looks like a watch battery (it's next to where the plug-in for the computer is, under the plastic cover) and now it turns on for about 15-20 seconds. However, the lens is still stuck in a halfway-out position and won't come all the way out, and the camera just shuts off. Does anyone know how to fix it?
