The first 50% of the scan is digital. The second 50% is analog. Unfortunately, you can't turn of the analog scanning or ask for only digital. If you are using an antenna be sure that it is aimed in the location that will provide the most channels. If you are using an antenna, you may be able to scan for channels individually. You will have to turn the antenna 5degrees at a time and then scan for individual channels. If you do a wide range scan, all channels previously found will be erased.
Do you have an outside antenna? If so start scanning for individual channels at 000. Move 5 degrees scan for individual channels again. Move 5 degrees more. You must scan for individual channels. A wide range scan will erase everything else.

I don't understand how a channel number can be described as dumber than dirt, if it does not detect it on an autoscan through ALL channels it won't work manually.
