Is my Axim X30 dead?

I was away on a trip for a couple of days, when I returned I placed my Axim X30 in a craddle and .. nothing. I got a message that there is an error in a memory, advising me to hold a power button and press reset on the back of the device. So I did it and than it went completely blank.

I decided to charge a battery, hoping that this might be a cause. At the end Axim got some life back, but the first screen was advising to tap on the screen and than Allign Screen message popped up. I followed instructions, screen got alligned and nothing. Device does not go through boot sequence.

Interesting thing is that when I put back device in the craddle, ActiveSync 4.5 recognizes Axim, synchronizes and allowes me to "explore" device. At the same time screen is completely dark/blank. I tried to restore system from backup, but ActiveSync stops responding after a while.

Please help, does anybody has any idea what to do?
